Do you have Google Analytics yet, that is the simplest way that I found, not sure what you mean by meta tag.
I added my Google Tracking ID in SEO and then Google webmaster should recognize you right away.
There is a lesson here that shows you step by step how to add google. It will show you step by step how to get your track ID from Google and then where to place this tag withing your editor meta tag. It is within the Getting started lessons!
I just went through this. Go to google webmaster tools, verify, and it will give you other ways to verify. It gave me the meta tag AND exactly where to enter it. But you will copy it, go to appearance, editor, header, look for "head" and underneath there, paste the meta tag they gave you and copied. Once it done it will say verified. then it will say no data. So I started reading about that and it can take 7-14 days actually for them to review your site. Whew. Hope that helps.

Google verification to add a meta tag?
how do i get into my site to add a meta tag for verifcation for Google
Hi Mike,
Are you referring to the meta tag that google wants you to be in your Homepage? If yes...please refer below, though this sounds a bit technical.
Your theme comes with a "header.php" file when you go to Appearance>>Editor.
First, you need to backup a copy of the "header.php" file by copying all its contents and pasting it in a notepad. Please save that copy into a new file say, headerphp.bak
Second, locate in your theme's header.php file this tag --> <head>
Copy your google meta tag after <head> which will look like the one below.
<head>
<meta name="google-site-verification" content=".......1XYZyy3ZA" />
Third, click on Update file just below the editor window. After that check and proceed with your google verification.
Hope this helps.
All the best,
Jhen
I just did exactly what you said, because webmaster is asking me the same thing to verify the file and under "head" i entered
<meta name="google-site-verification" content= [google7368d31036b45e09.html]
and google says not verified. I dont know what else to do.
Thank you! This was the simplest, clearest explanation I could find on WA for verifying with Google.

I'm trying to get in my website to add a veracation for Google
Aside from the suggestions, below or opening up a help ticket, I don't have any other suggestions. I do often refer to Matt Cutts (from google) as he has many videos and is pretty easy to follow.
the instruction above won't work for me, I have webmaster tools but don't have google analytics. when I submitted my website on "add a site", it's asking me to do these first steps. I simply don't know how to do step # 2. Any help I can get?
1. Download this HTML verification file. [google3deefdafc03ea6d8.html]
2. Upload the file to http://greatmovies.siterubix.com/
Here is a simple way that means you don't need to do the html verification thing. How to Verify Site in Webmaster Tools Without Adding html to Header
Here's a good tutorial on how to do this Mike:

This tutorial didn't work for me. It won't verify. What else can I do? I've tried all of the different options but I can't get it. How do I try this method? Add the TXT record below to the DNS configuration for alleykatsalley.com. WA is the host but I can't figure out this . The meta tag insertion I can't figure out. I am so inept with computer stuff. Any help would be welcome.
This is a way to do it without meta tag insertion, see if it helps, it worked for Mike who posted the question :) How to Verify Site in Webmaster Tools Without Adding html to Header

I am trying to get my website verified by google.com and i need to edit my html file
Very carefully if you are into coding be sure to do a backup first. Also Copy your section that you will be working on. so if something goes wrong you can just put it back to its original state. Most of all have fun with your site.
The easy way, if you really don't want to mess with code, is to use this free plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/authorsure/
Otherwise, make sure you first copy the entire existing code from the header.php file, into a notepad file and save it, just in case you make a boo-boo. That way you can reinstate it to the way it was before. Always do this when working with the editor code files in WordPress.

Paste your code right below the word <head>

Where do i go to pay another Month and how do i find out how much it is, Mike
Yeah, this is all automated. You are rebilled automatically every month (as long as you have not cancelled), so you don't need to worry about manually sending any payment Michael.
Ok Kyle, No i have not cancelled, I will make it in this nothing is going to stop me and Thanks
Dear Kyle, would you help me to fix my monthly payment with paypal? I want to make a payment for the month of April but I can't. I need your help. Thanks!
If you have updated your payment with Paypal, then when we attempt to bill you again it should go through fine Rendall. :)
