Time Management Question

Last Update: June 12, 2020

Hi Everyone.

I would love to hear from WA members on exactly how you manage your time.

My situation...

I sell on line, it is my only source of income. It works but is time intensive. I buy items, refurbish them and then sell them on line. As it is my only income I have to pay it close attention and make sure that the business is working and successful.

My Website started on here at the end of Jan 19. I did all the training which took ages and now have my own website which I like but due to my lack of time it is not getting the input required.

SO - MY QUESTION.

What do you guys do to mange time? How do you set time aside for writing content for your blogs/websites? When (what time) do you write?

ANY input would be greatly appreciated, any tips or snippets of information and ideas would be eagerly read!

I have to write more and need some time management in my working days!

Thank you.

Mike

Mike, right now I put out the fires that are most important in all arenas as they crop up! Perhaps not the best way, but for now, it works for me! There is never a dull moment!

If I have a spare 10 or 15 minutes, I set a timer and sit down and write. It’s amazing how much you can write in 10 minutes. Even if you only do 1 quality piece a week it is better than nothing at all.

I have a similar situation. I already run a business which is also time intensive. Along with every simple thing that has to be done in lockdown.
I get up early, 5.30 - 6.00 ish, and I finish around 11-11.30, though I have worked later. I take breaks to prepare meals.

It's just a case of writing down what you do and when and then deciding where you can claw back more time.

Glad it helped. Just briefly note everything you do over a few days and go from there. Good luck, it's not easy doing both.

Hi Mike. I may not be the best to answer this question, but I have learned that I have to make time; or maybe better put, take time.
If you don't spend some time your site will just wane.
I try to find time in between my ministry and work and just sit down and see what I can do to create and research posts.
This is a long term project, and now I get traffic because of the number of posts that have been done in the past.
I hope this helps.

Hi Ray - Yes it helps a great deal, thank you.
I think "make time" is correct.
I have been mulling it over for a few weeks, I have decided to go for a time slot every morning - Get Up - Breakfast - Walk my dog Bertie - Write.

I think once I get into this rhythm it will become normal and natural.

Thank you Ray, I hope you and your loved ones are all well and happy.
