Amazon Associates.

Hi Everyone.

I have been following Kyle's amazing training step by step for 6 months. I am happy with what I have done so far, I wish I had done more BUT I know everyone has different speeds and time available so I have no hang ups there.

AMAZON ASSOCIATES.

Quite early in the training we are encouraged to join Amazon, this I did, I set it up and felt great that it had accepted me. Of course 6 months down the line there have been no sales and soon I will be given the Amazon "boot up the bum".

I am not concerned about this but I have three questions.

1. Do you think that the addition of Amazon Associates to your site should be later in the training as I would think many people who are working other jobs will be nowhere near making a sale in 6 months?

2. What would you recommend in regard to reapplying, is it best to wait until you have a certain amount of traffic to your website?

3. When you reapply do you get to keep the same associate details?

The picture is of a seagull sitting next to the river Thames in London, in the background is the insurance and banking area of London where the money is - I am that seagull!

It depends on the people. But it's not easy to make sales in 6 months. So maybe it would be nice to warn people that if they do not have a lot of experience in the affiliation, they can wait a bit before engaging with Amazon. But I did hear some of the members say that by talking with the Amazon staff, they were able to extend their testing period.

Thank you ingrid
Mike

I think I'm gonna get the boot soon too. And yeah I agree signing up for adsense and Amazon Associates during the training is too early.. unless your traffic is somehow really high during the training phase. Wish I waited till I have better traffic before signing up for AA.

Yes - Live and learn!

I got the boot too. I reapplied, I figure Christimas is coming up soon enough. Maybe get some sales then.

Thanks mick

Thank you mick. Love the cat, so sweet. Regards mike

Thanks Mike.

Hi Mike,
I joined amazon early in the training and got kicked out because of no sales. I did reapply right away and had to change all of my links.

I was able to make 3 sales the second time around. What helped me was writing a lot of top 10 and best products posts and reviews. Also, when I re applied it was near Black Friday and Christmas which really helped.

When you re apply you are given a new associate ID, so all your links need to be changed.

Thanks Jenny - I like the Christmas idea, Very Good!

Thank you,

Mike

Jenny - Another question has popped into my head regarding this. Do you have to make the 3 sales every 6 months or is it just the first six months?

Thank you,
Mike x

Hi Mike,
You only have to make 3 sales in your first 180 days. After you make your 3 sales Amazon will look at your website and decide whether you are approved or not as an affiliate.

Amazon is very strict, make sure that you follow their rules. Do not have your friends or family buy from your links, it is a big no-no, and will get you disqualified.

Do not put any pricing on your website for Amazon items, and make sure to have their disclosure visible on each page. A good spot is in the footer of your website.

If you search within WA you can find out about Amazon's rules. There was a blog post about the things that will get you banned.

I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions please ask.

Best of luck to you.

Jenny.

Thank you Jenny.

OK = So 3 sales and then they have a look at your site.

That's great - Thank you

Hi Mike,
I did join Amazon. It was great, easy to use and they had all the products at good products that I wanted to advertise on my site.
I had a low traffic count and did not make any sales. Therefore I got the boot. I have not re-applied but I probably will in the near future.

Best wishes,
Michael

Joining Amazon before you have any traffic is a bit pointless so perhaps it needs to be later in the training.

Derek

Yes - My thoughts as well Derek

Regards
Mike

Hi - yes, I agree. It is suggested too early in the training to join Amazon (or AdSense, for that matter). You can reapply immediately if you wish or wait for further traffic, entirely your choice.

Unfortunately, when you do reapply, you are given a new ID. You have to replace all your old links, as they will no longer work, and you won't get any commission from them.

I had to do this myself recently, and although it's a tedious process, I did discover that some of my products were no longer available, so I guess it had its benefits!

Thank you Diane,

As always your help is really appreciated.

I think I will reapply when I have visitors otherwise I will end up doing it again!

Have a great Day
