Watch Those Erasers
We all make mistakes... but there is no sense in overdoing it...
“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.” ~ Steve Maraboli

I was just thinking, what if there were no erasers, no white out, no edit function, and everything had to stay exactly as it came out the frist tmie/ :)
You made me think, Mike...what if there were no erasers, no white out, no edit function, and everything had to stay however it came out the frist tmie? :)
I saw it , Rick. In the museum of Vladimir Mayakovsky in Moscow I saw manuscripts of his poems. Sometimes before he got the right line, 3 or 4 previous ones were crossed out.He was a genius I think, but he really worked hard on the word. It's him:
"you process
for the sake of one word
thousands of tons
of the word ore.."
Using just the right word is one of the secrets to good writing. Lots happens in my editing. :)
With me it's different... Sometimes I feel as if somebody is dictating me the phrase, sometimes have to think hard, use the dictionary of synonyms, check the meanings, etc.
You don't ask for it, you don't plug in... It just comes... It's a good job if you have a piece of paper and a pencil near by...:)
and who is the one who records, or rather, is recorded? Bravo to your imagination!:)I would love to have one with just one phrase recorded "Hold on" or, "Think before you leap..." hahaha...:)
