Great free screencast tool - Icecream screen recorder
I just want to share this free screecast tool I have found with you. When you are just starting out, you probably want something very easy to use and free. I know I want:-)
In my search, I found Icecream screen recorder. It is very easy to use and free.
Features:
- select what part of the screen you want to record
- record screen, webcam or both.
- sound recording
- record up to 10 min.
- super easy and simple to use
I also tried screencast-o-matic that many here on WA recommends. It is also very great, byt unless you pay, you have their logo in the corner of your recording, which I find a bit annoying. You do not have that with icecream screen recorder.
You can only record up to 10 min, but for many of us that is probably also enough for a start. And once money start coming in, you can always upgrade to another tool. You cannot edit the video in the program, but I just import it into windows movie maker and edit from there.
You can find it on: http://icecreamapps.com/Screen-Recorder/
(this is not an affiliate link).
Hope you find this tool as useful as me.
If like the tip, or have any other experiences with this tool, please like below or leave a comment.
All the best,
Mikael

I just installed it onto my mac but unfortunately it only records 1 minute for the free version. I'll just stick to my usual recorder. Thanks for sharing though.
Hmm - that is weird. I get 10 minutes fro free. Seems like it is different for mac then. good to know. Thanks for letting me know
Interesting Tool .. The free webinar system I use has a presentation recording system that I use, it is free with no logos and no time limits. Cheers. William.
Sorry I meant to put the link:
https://www.freeconferencecall.com/webinar
It is a webinar system but their menu allows you to operate in non-webinar mode and create video trainings etc .. you can nominate which window on your computer you want to use so you can run powerpoint for example (or be showing a website) and do the voice explanation or you could use your cam instead.
Cheers, William.
Sounds like a great tool. I personally use Microsofts Expression Encoder. There is no limit to the time you can record. Been using it for a long time.
That sounds great as well. Good to know where to go if I need to make longer recordings. Is that a free tool as well?
Yes the only problem with the program you need the screen recorder and the encoder. A little difficult at first to master but many good videos. The best video was from this little kid who is a gaming monster.
