Changing or Updating your Theme

If you change or update your Theme for your website, you will loose google analytics! If you previously added the google analytics code to your header.php file on your old Theme, you will have to re-add the html code in the same file of your new Theme. You will add the code before the last <header> tag. The google analytics code is on google at google.com/analytics sign in and then click on admin. You will then click on Property and then CREATE NEW PROPERTY. Copy the html code and transfer it to the new header.php file. You will also need to insert the new Tracking Id as well on your Dashboard under All in One SEO under Google Analytics Id.

I'm barely getting started with my website and was wondering if/ when I could change my theme especially if I find the layout is not the best fit for my content.and if I did change the theme what would happen?
This helps immensely!
Susan
Susan, you can change your Theme at any time. Just be aware that google analytics etc will have to be reinstalled because of new files associated with the new Theme. That is about it. Make sure your new Themes does what you want for your website. No sense switching if it doesn't.
