Na No Wri Mo

Normally the last week of October, the first week of November are two weeks that have important traditional celebrations. In my Australia it is a 2 mile horse race called the Melbourne Cup held on the first tuesday in November.

In Colombia the Medellin Flower Festival, normally held in August will be held this weekend.

In its 60 year history it would have been a shame to not have it this year, considering it has continued to be held during some of Colombia's darkest day's.

So a few months late, but better late than never as they say. One interesting statistic I only found out the other week is that flowers account for 9% of Colombia's exports.

As they say here, they are all a little bit tubby, but they are full of love.

Of course the sad part is in Melbourne it will be a horse race watched only on T.V. Apparently they have 4 new cases of Covid in Melbourne !

The flower show in Medellin also has some restrictions but this festival normally goes for about 10 days so there will be plenty of opportunity to be a part of it.

One Other Event starting in the first week of November is NaNoWriMo.

You might be asking what the hell is NaNoWriMo

It is a challenge put out every year to write 50,000 words for the month of November.

The actual web site has a lot of articles on subjects close to us.
