The Brutality of Tennis is Akin to a Blood Sport

I have been spoilt with sport these past couple of weeks. Cricket and now the Australian Open. The years first grand slam on the tennis calender

Tennis, like boxing is uno un uno.

Superstars who are expected to win easily, leave the stadium mentally and physically broken, after being run mercilessly around the court for about 4 hours by someone who normally plays 2 tiers below this level of tennis.

The enjoyment on the unknowns face as they send winners flying past the superstar, punching the air, determined to do more, and go back to their mark to receive the superstars next serve, with more determination to win the next point. The noise of wild cheering echoing around the court.

All quiet now, waiting, swaying and licking his lips, watching as the superstar, confused, demoralised, dripping sweat (wondering what has gone wrong after winning the first game, then losing the next two on tie breaks), prepares to serve, having lost the previous point after a 22 ball rally.

At least if he loses the game he made his opponent earn it.

The Women are Worse.

They fight through the rounds wanting to meet the Queen, just to kick her arse. They will say " she was my idol growing up", but salivate at the opportunity to hit her serves back and engage in long rallies, and run her old legs from one side of the court to the other.

They smile and clench the fists when they win a point, and watch her shoulders slump as she makes her way back to receive a serve. The crowd quiet, watching the demolition of a legend.

What has this to do with Wealthy Affiliate?. Become a challenger, challenge yourself, be like a tennis player, work out how you can win.

As I write this, another upstart has just won an exchange of 27 rallies to draw level with the guy who has won 20 grand slams.

How much confidence and persistance can you muster on your mission?

Michael.

P.S. At the end of every match winner and loser are always appreciative of one thing. The support they received, from the crowd, their coaches and family.

So true
Thanks for sharing
TIM

A very tough game Tim, just as much mental as physical.
You have been busy lately,
I hope it is all coming together for you.
Michael.

Your title draw me in. You are right, lol, it seems internet marketing has become a bloodsport, but there is no winning necessary per se, no competition because there is enough for everyone.

Hi Petra,
Watching the mental toughness of the players as they battle the demons in their head as well as their opponent, is just so awe inspiring.

Michael.

Speaking of Tennis, Boris Becker and Steffi Graf were in my club, but I was an old school Bjoern Borgfan.

Great players of the past there Petra.
Michael.

Thanks for sharing your love of tennis. I agree that confidence is needed to succeed. When I started WA I had hardly any confidence in myself to do anything much, but I have grown with the training and with the fellowship of encouraging members here and I know I will succeed.

Take care
Charlotte

The confidence to continue Charlotte.
Give your best and not give up.
Hope your doing ok,
Michael.

Tennis is a game of grit, stamina, and endurance. It can be as punishing as boxing!

Your not wrong there Florentino.
The melt downs are proof of that.
Hope your doing ok,
Michael.

Thanks Michael. Yes, I am doing ok. Though there are challenges that I needed to face for as long as it takes!!
