Hope this finds you all well.

I now have 750 followers!

They have been flooding in thick and fast these past couple of weeks.

Thanks to those who have followed. But be warned I don't do much here.

I have too much happening outside of blogging, limiting the time I devote to it.

As I am sure many of you who follow His Royal Highness, Prince of Partha know, that is not going to cut it as a blogger.

I still turnout at least one article a week on my site, sometimes two, but that seems to be my limit.

So I am not really a blogger.

I submitted one to Google the other day, only to have Google tell me there is an issue with the SSL certificate.

So off to site support to have that rectified.

But having a look through the Google Search Console today, I apparently have more articles not showing HTTPS.

I need to look a little closer at it, but they seem to be articles from 2020 or earlier and were done using the site content platform. (Which uses (d?), the Old Classic WordPress platform).

I never changed to Guttenberg until around mid 2020, and I now just write inside WordPress.

It is so, so much easier, no clunkiness, no messing around cropping photos, which often don't crop (for me anyway).

How do you explain a scene when you can only see a small square of what should be a detailed image?

Try again, repeat crop, Insert. Same little snippet square. Give it up.

Try a copy and paste. Nope that doesn't work either.

Ahh well, I know JB of blog dog fame is having trouble with his photos too.

Although his problem stems from a different source. Or should that be sauce?

Anyway, that's my little rant, it brings me back to a point HRH Prince of Partha mentioned last week about doing a site audit.

1st.

About my SSL problem.

Google is reluctant to index articles without a valid SSL. Perhaps I should say it won't index them.

So site audits are important. Look for anything else that could be screwing with your site.

2nd.

Before I delete a post I skim through them first, they might be useful elsewhere, Medium for example.

It depends on the topic of course.

Call it laziness, but if all one needs is a bit of a touch up I will export it to another site where it may get some attention.

At the moment I think I have only one post about WA on my site, and that is an experiment in the header.

But time moves on, I remember a couple of years ago the one I consigned to the dustbin of history last night was Number 2 on Yahoo and Google for weeks.

Like the Prince says, only cull non performing posts older than 12 + months.

Probably like many of you I see wild fluctuations in some of my newer article rankings.

Don't stress.

Like a lot of people WA isn't my focus.

By forcing a squeeze of a WA post into a tight niche cluster that may only be slightly relevant to WA (depending on how imaginative you are), is not going to achieve much, and do nothing for your rankings.

Enjoy the coming week.

Michael.

Hi! Michael,

I trust site support can help you solved the website issues the same as mine.
About the images you have to solve it yourself, site support can install Kraken plugin for you but it is not reliable forever. I get this 2 links from our training master Parameter, it takes time to work on each image but solved the page speed insight permanently, if every image keep lighter below 35KB.

I share this 2 links to you, hopefully can solve your website issue partially and give my appreciation to Parameter. I hope our members can help you solve other issue if they have any solution for you.

Thanks Stephen,
The SSL is resolved, and I no longer use the Site Content/Classic WordPress platform, unless I post something here then I have no choice.
Well, I could do a short post in MS Word and try copying and pasting it into here.
I have tried pasting things into this blog before and just got a blank page.
When doing an article for my site I write straight into the Guttenburg WordPress platform.
I have no issues with that, I find it a breeze.
Yeah, I know about Kraken.
I got rid of it ages ago
Smush performs so much better.
Thank you for your help Stephen and enjoy your week.
Michael.

Nice to hear that the SSL issue is solved. When my website shifted from classic to block, I have checked every post. There is something run away and need to correct it. I hope you are fine now.
Among the free plugin, Smush is one of the best.
I wish you a successful year.

I never re-did every post, Stephen. There are still some there that were done on the old classic platform.
I will look at them later and either convert them or delete them depending on how they are performing.
I went pro Smush. No regrets either.
Thanks for replying Stephen.
Michael.

Haha, Micheal! Probably the sauce, my friend!

Cheers!

Jeff😎🍺

No worries JB. I always keep an eye out for your culinary delights.
They always seem compatible with beer.
😎
Have a good week JB.

Michael.

Haha, Thanks, Michael! The only thing not compatible with beer so far is cereal for me which is weird, since they are both made from or are grains!

Enjoy your new week, as well!

Jeff😎🍺

Congrats on your following!

I am sure SiteSupport will have it sorted out if they don’t already.

Thank you, Lisa Marie,

Site Support had a look and said to give it 24 hours and it should be all good again.

Michael.

Interesting that you had ssl issues, Michael. Hopr you got that figured out.

Yes, I don't post often here, either, although I spend time finding answes and providing them as well. My website design site is picking up speed and I just picked up a huge client, so I wont be here as much....

Auditing the site, I need to look at that a bit closer.

Rudy

That sounds really good Rudy. Well done.
Yeah getting into the underbelly of our sites is probably not many of us even think about.
A bit like driving a car around for 12 months and not checking the oil level.
I think I have the SSL sorted now. Site Support had a look and said to give it 24 hours.

Michael.
