I have not gotten any e books

I have read about WordPress for dummies before joining WA!

Ok great! Thank you!

I recently read Dr. Robert Cialdini's "Influence: Science and Practice" a book about persuasion and compliance (getting people to say yes).

Dr. Cialdini explains how people buy based on emotion and then justify the purchase decision on logic.

Thanks Glen! Will definitely have to keep this one in mind!

I wish I read it before going to the auto dealer. I could have saved a few dollars.

I have referrals from a website foxweber.com that I am not even signed up with? You have to pay to be a member with them to send traffic to your site from what I could gather.

You might want to look into it. Just to be sure.

By referral do you mean actual Wealthy Affiliate referrals or do you mean hits to your website? I am also getting hits to my website from the same foxweber.com but no referrals to WA. I am wondering if it is a ploy to get you to click on it to see who it is that is visiting your website and then get customers to join their website that way.

No sorry, I mean hits to my website. You may be correct. I never thought of that!

What is your site, and are you selling anything there that could get referrals? Have you told people about WA? Find out why they are contacting you, or call Google Customer Service and find out!

Yes it's for my first site on above ground pools so I am selling a lot of items. My site is constantly through Facebook, but I haven't really focused much on it since I have been working on my second site which is my WA site. I just found it strange that I am getting referrals through them when Im not even a customer of theirs.

Are You making any sales for your pools? If so then count those referrals as future sales abilities that can produce sales later on. So keep googles analities and those referrals. They are probably waiting for some sort of link to your website where they can order your products. So get everything ready, then send to them as fast as possible your link with a tiny email add for them to click on your posted email link so that they can go there and order form you. That is what this business is all about. Good Luck to you girlfriend.

Thank you!

Well today has been a REALLY BAD DAY!!! I broke my site.....just the color and customizing on it, thank goodness but still it really is an awful feeling. So im wondering if ya'

I like the colors but you might want to either whiten the column on the right so it's easier to see and read or lighten the background color. I like it.

I'll probably have to lighten the background, there's not an option to darken the text unfortunately! Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it!

Best wishes my friend!

Misty

I think the site looks really good. I left a comment.

Ok i need to enter a code at the end of the body tag that is located in the site template? Where would I find this besides it's in your Appearance>Editor etc? Cause I'm not

Featured Comment

I just responded in your other location where you asked this, but what you want to do is add this within your Editor.

If you log into your site and go to:

Appearance => Editor => Header.php

Within your WP back office, you will be able to edit the code and you will see this code there. Then you can add the code that is given to you. Just make sure you do not delete anything within the code as it can break your site.

Hope this helps you out and if you need any further help, let me know.

Ok they made it sound different than normal! So it's really where we normally go to add just about everything!? Thank you so much Kyle! Much appreciated!

One more question for you Kyle? Im looking at the body tags inside the header php and I dont know exactly where they end. I supposed to place the code at the end of the body tag? Now does the body tag end where it says "end logo" several times throughout the body tags, or at the very end of the page? Im a little stuck on this one? Usually I figure these out pretty well, but Im scared on this one cause I just cant seem to place it. PLEASE HELP!!

Here is a video tutorial to help you find how to load your header.php as Kyle directed you above: https://youtu.be/XCq475GzyR0

As for the closing body tag, you need to look (or search) for the following: </body>

Personally, I recommend you install a child theme if you intend to keep whatever it is that you are adding to your header.php. Reason I suggest this is that the next time you update your theme, whatever changes you make now to this file will be overwritten.

Child theme tutorial:

Nevermind I broke my site....I cant get the colors to stay custom to the page now. It wont change and wants to stay the default colors of gray and black. Im in tears, and really upset right now. I still havent placed the stupid code. I figured out it probably need to be placed below the where it says <body, but I placed it in the wrong spot at first and then moved it and now the code after the body was apparently the customized color code. I have tried to fix it because all i did was remove the small Amazon code and the other code went back to its pace sort of, but it messed everthing up. So off to choose a different theme. And no I did not have my site backed up....I have been putting it off thinking Im invincible, and now I know that Im NOT!!!

Take a deep breath ... and contact site support for help with this issue: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support and know this ... you are now well on your way to success.

The more boo-boos you make now, the more you learn so you will soon be a pro at this! We've all had our fair share of tears and tearing out our hair ... believe me!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I just now saw your message! I already chose a new theme and customized it and everything. Im waiting to get opinions on it. If the feedback is not as good as the ones I was getting on my other theme then Im going back to it and I will contact support. Will they be able to fix the issue? If so I may just go back anyways cause im not too jazzed about the new theme. I loved my old site, it was coming out amazing! But this one does have potential that the other one doesnt. We'll see? THanks again!

Misty

If you want to go back to your original theme then delete it and reinstall it as if it was a brand new theme. Any changes you made before will be overwritten. Remember to actually delete the theme first.

I tried doing that, but there was no option to delete the theme? All I could do was deactivate it and once you have used it it reloads as it left basically. So it didnt work? If you know how to delete it, please let me know!!!

Go to Appearance > Themes and click on the theme anywhere except "Activate". You'll see "Delete" at the bottom-right corner.

Your AMAZING!!! I just didnt see it at the time through my tears of anger and frustration!! Thank you so very much!! Sincerely you are the best!!
Best wishes to you my friend for sure!!

What if we know people who own their own businesses who don't want to necessarily sign up with WA but want me to build them a website for their business and are asking what I w

Excellent idea! Thanks for asking the question, Misty :)

That is an excellent idea, and we are always excited about new ideas! One of the webinars created here is called " building websites for clients". Check it out. That should answer your questions, but if not, please don't hesitate to ask Moore. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and input!

Rene'

This is a really good idea!!

Once you have a set of skills that you've learned, of course you can turn around and help others with it. Understand that it can seem like a full time job just managing your own site, so if you should take on more, just make sure you have the time to manage them :)

Oh absolutely! I wouldn't even start to think about doing it yet until maybe I'm finished with Bootcamp training. I have a ways to go with that. My skills aren't even close to where they need to be for that kind of work yet. I want to be an expert, not a month into it and still a beginner. Though I am doing pretty good I might say! Lol!! But I am glad that is something that can be done! Im in love with doing this and I feel that this is where I should be!!

That is awesome :) You've found your calling! Capitalize on it! :)

is there any training on here for advertising for that? that is an AWESOME idea.

There's a webinar by Jay here:

Oh Sweet! Thank you!

Awesome! Thanks so much!

You're welcome. :)

Glad it'll help you! :)

Absolutely! There are many here who do that.

Sure you can.

Yes, you can build and charge

That is what it is all about, find something
you can do and enjoy doing.
Then monetize your talent.
I have built many websites for others.
This creates a great ongoing income.

I see... a feedback session.

Isn't that one of the ultimate perks of getting good at this? You could set up your own system simply to collect recurring credit card payments for services provided. I haven't done this, but I've definitely been thinking about this too.

I'd love to hear others' thoughts AND learn what others are actually doing:
1. How much are they charging up front to build the website?
2. Are they setting up a monthly maintenance fee?
3. How successful are they doing this?

Thanks,
Darren

Yeah I would love to know what I should charge to build the site! It takes a lot of work to do so! I don't want to come off to low but I don't want to come off greedy either. I want to get the sale! Research, research. research!!! Lol!! How fun would that be for sure!? I'm glad I wasn't thinking entirely off base! Thanks for your response!

Stay tuned! Lol
