Can anyone tell me in normal words how to eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content?

Hi, I am seeing your question just now and I have the exact same issue as yourself and many others: speed up the loading time of pages (whether because of render-blocking JavaScript, CSS in above-the-fold content, images weight, etc.)

I guess you got your results through Google Pagespeed Insights. There is also Google Pagespeed Module, which role is to automate pages optimization. I am going to follow that route instead of trying plugin(s). If you are interested, we could do it both at the same and share the difficulties we have and the solutions we find.

Let me know!

I post a training the other day of compressing images that will help with your page speed

Do you use Smush.it?

Pixillion

Thanks, I checked it out and will compress my pics from now on

When you find out put it in the training section because I am sure I will encounter it in the future.

If you look at the bottom of the page, I actually have a training for it.

I did but jshannon seems to still be having problems. However I will save this page so I can access your training. Thanks

Sure, your welcome, hope I was able to help :D

I was wondering the same thing MGroesbeck. I installed the W3 Total Cache Plugin and when I run the google pagespeed check it still says that I need to eliminate render blocking Javascript and CSS in above-the-fold-content among other things. We simply need answers.

Did you see the tutorial I provided at the bottom?

If you are still having this issue, I suggest trying W3 Super Cache to see if it is any better. If you have anymore questions please feel free to PM me :)

Had the same issue. This will help, it helped me, it also minified everything for me, and leveraged browsing too.

I went to add the W3 Total Cache plugin and it is no longer available. Is there another one that will work?

That's strange? W3 Cache should be available. Try Installing W3 Super Cache, it is also free, but mostly recommended for experts. If you need any more assistance please PM me for anything :D

Can any one tell me how to get the posts to have links under certain pages?

I am in the middle of this and will let you know what happens. Send me a private message so I remember to do this.

Thanks, I will

Do you mean you want your posts to link to other pages in your site?
If so here is a training on linking pages

That's good info but not what I'm looking for. I want to sort my post so they go on certain pages. For example, I want my brisket flat recipe to appear in my BBQ page and my Recipe page.

Not a hundred percent sure I am reading your question correctly but this will help if you are asking what I think you are Catherine

This answered my question. Thank you

Can any one tell me if you are allowed to use the product image on the product page that you link your review to? If not, then where do you get the images from?

As other members mentioned you can leverage your affiliate images but if you ever need to access images for your content consider using http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page. Free to use and no royalties. My best to you.

I have used them but the selection is very limited. Thank you

Hi. If you are an affiliate with a certain company, you are allowed to use their product images for the items you are promoting.

How do you become affiliated?

Good. I was hoping. Thank you very much!

You learn to become an affiliate in Level 3.

You just need to fill out their application. If you type into google the company + affiliate program, it should bring it up. Once you fill out their application, you just wait for an acceptance email.

Keep in mind that some affiliates actually check out your website and want to see that it has enough content on it (according to their standards) before they approve you. Others, like Amazon, usually approve people quickly, but they give you a time limit to make a first sale. If you haven't made a sale within the time limit, they remove your account.

Just be sure that you are getting traffic to your website before you worry about putting affiliate links on your site. If you are not getting the traffic, the links are not going to help you any. :)

Thank you very much
