I want to save my websites before they get deleted and i'm wondering if I park them will I lose all the content or does that stay so when I finally get hosting I will have my we
If you don't have an active hosting account everything on your website will vanish. Back everything up on your computer before you 'park' your domain name. How to Back Up Your Website With FileZilla via FTP ~Marion
thanks Marion, I realized I could upload them over onto wordpress so i'll be able to keep working on them which is good. I'm afraid those programs are just too technical for me, but it's actually working find just exporting then importing.
Great. Using Export/Import works fine for your content but you need to install and configure your themes and plugins again because they don't get saved via the Export feature.
If you own the domain name and discontinue your hosting. Only the domain name will be parked. And the domain name will only be parked for as long as you own the name.
You will need to do a full backup of your site prior to your hosting ending or you will loose everything on the site.
The host does not store that info after hosting has been teminated.
I think that content stays for 30 days after not paying...so you have 30 days to get another host...

WordPress 4.2.3, a critical security release, was automatically pushed out to users yesterday to fix an XSS vulnerability. Shortly afterwards, the
seems WordPress went ahead and issued the security release without informing developers. I believe they fixed their fix lol! everything I use was down, theme, plugins.
No, my sites are hosted at WA, not Hostgator. A few people here, including me, have reported Visual Editor issues, but they were occurring before the upgrade.
Have you tried to temporarily switch to the default WordPress theme - TwentyFifteen. See if the issue is also present there. If it is okay in the default theme, then the problem could be with your theme.
You can then switch back to your current theme to see if the temporary switch reset the default codes.
The XSS affects javascript code. If the above does not help, try this
for diagnosing and possibly solving the issue:

Yes Hostgator changed my theme but when I read what was going on I just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. way too technical for me :)

I just went ahead a bought a domain for my main blog that I've had for over 5 years. it's on blogger! so I just moved my other site over but it was only 4 months so I just repos
I would suggest keeping your blogger as is and run them together as a branded network. If your newly purchased domain can be called the same thing and is related that is what i would do. By linking your blogger to your domain you will be passing some of the authority on to your new site
that's an interesting idea, i'll have to put some thought into that thanks a lot BeauAndNik

i just lost 2 posts full of links etc this morning really exasperated!!!! blogger used to save every 3 words or so.
You can tick the 'show revisions' screen options at the top of the page. That way, your revisions will show up under the post editor area. .
Then you can restore the latest revision.
You can probably do that for the content you thought you lost because an earlier revision is probably still listed there unless you use an optimize or delete revision plugin. ~Jude
Mine has always autosaved every 2 minute mark while typing a post. I have used Wordpress since 2009 and it has always done this for me.
I just now tested it out to be sure that I have not been imagining things all these years. But yeah, it autosaves precisely every 2 minutes while draft is open. Of course I would always click on Save Draft when I am finished just to be on the safe side if I had to exit Wordpress while working on an unfinished draft.
maybe its my horrible connection. I told my husband to call about it but last time he was on hold for 1/2 hr. pray the whole nation doesn't go Verizon fios lol!
You need to give your page/post a title before you start saving as a draft or publishing. Maybe that could be the problem.
I just tested it and it will autosave with the title blank. It still will take 2 minutes to show the first autosave BUT if you put in a title of any kind, the very first Autosave will happen instantaneously then the next will be at the regular 2 minute interval. It's like it saves the Title immediately.
funny I never put in a title until the post is ready to post. I think it should save without though.
If you are starting a new post, you can click the Save Draft button each time you make changes. When you are ready to publish, click the Publish button. If you go back and make changes after the post has been published, click the Update button. Is this what you mean.
Wordpress does have an auto-save feature that you should be able to access as well.
I thought there was an auto-save but evidently it's no automatic lol. I've had this problem for the last 4 months, i'm sure i'm missing something. it's just a pita having to save every few moments, especially with this wonderful slow connection we have with Verizon that we just upgraded (sarcasm). My kids are home from summer school now and it's just so inconvenient because I just don't have time to go researching these little problems.
Sorry you are having so much trouble, Mgriffin. When I start a new post I always click the Save Draft button first to make sure that it doesn't get lost. Another thing to do is to make sure you can view your post so after you save it either in draft of by publishing it, make sure you can view it. If you can't there's definitely something weird going on!
