Hi good morning everyone, Michael here...

I recently got an email about a company(Lyfebotanicals) reaching out to me that they really enjoyed a certain article of mine(t

Thanks for asking this eye-opening question. I've learned from these great answers too.
All the best.

Is that the same vertical you are in?

Honestly, tons of companies do this, all with the same spiel.

I wouldn't count on being on that site for your backlink, though your link to them will benefit them fully.

If it was me, I'd completely ignore it. But I've only been doing this for 21 years, so the decision is yours.

Hi Jeannine,

Yes, same vertical. I understand what you’re saying.

Great, I’ll take this into consideration!

Thank you,
Michael

Hi Michael, I kind of echo Chrystopher's comments. I had a similar experience about three weeks ago. Eventually after researching the company I decided to use them on a few of my posts as a back link. I have not regretted the decision. If you would like to PM me the URL, I will look at them also. I have always followed Chrystopher's suggestions, and it has always worked out for me.

Best wishes,
Michael

Hey Michael,

Thanks for your comment. That’s good to hear, gives me a sense of relief. I reached out to you.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael, I got your PM and looked at your site and the link that was sent to you. One I really like your website, very professional and well organized.
When I checked the link I see they are trying to sell their own turmeric product for which you will not be compensated for.
You have turmeric listed on your site with and you already have a back link to it.
Turmeric curcumin, is used for several purposes. I like the way you have the Thin Mist product listed, and I would encourage you to do something similar with turmeric curcumin.
The only thing I did not like about the link is that they seemed to be piggy backing through your site to sell their product. Other than that I found nothing wrong with it.
You are here to sell your own stuff and make a commission.
Ultimately of course the decision is yours.

All the best,
Michael

You are very welcome Michael. I see all the comments were pretty much the same as mine. That is what's great about WA we all work together.

Michael

I am with Chrystopher on this one. Backlinks are not something to take lightly. A good backlink is worth the world. A rally shabby one can set you back.

Laura

Hey Laura,

Exactly! There’s a marginal difference between increasing your websites exposure vs having it come crashing down on you. I appreciate your feedback. And glad to hear from you, hope all is well.

Thank you,
Michael

Well said Michael,

Laura

Only you can make that call, but if you feel it is genuine and legit, then go for it. But make sure you research the details first, which sounds like you already have :-)

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for weighing in. You’re absolutely right, at the end it’s my call and I’m not alone if I do the proper research. Michael’s comment(above) helped out...

And it’s where the other site has a great post and does promote a product, which hopefully they’re not only trying to take advantage for their own gains.

Thanks again.

Are you not getting enough traffic?

Are you getting traffic but you can’t convert?

What is traffic?

Hey, Michael here.

One thing I know is t

Its kind of the the chicken or the egg--which comes first. Great post on content and traffic Michael, I've saved if for reference!

Jeff

Exactly Jeffrey! Thank you! :)

I agree! You might think traffic is the first step, however “content” is the first step to get the traffic.

For those of you that are riders, I will publish your content for free. In fact I will link your content to your offer for free. You give me the content (ORIGINAL and UNPUBLISHED) and I will publish it on my website to get the traffic.

Yes, content is really the key to everything, and organizing it in a way that can create an emotional connection is important.

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Steve,

I'm happy to help. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my post.

Great, Michael. I loved that "Put yourself in your audiences shoes", so true. I really think strong content is the most important thing. I don't think my articles are the best but I think it gets better with more writing.
Lenka

Hey Lenka,

Yes, we all need to put ourselves in our audiences/customers shoes and really know what our avatar is thinking. It's more than just demographics, we want to know what's going on psychologically(psychographics).

That's part of the process, you just keep improving on your old and new articles the more your education grows.

All the best,
Michael

I'm going to try to do a live share screen in my facebook group. That's what I'll try to do. This will show the powerpoint application window and run.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for your help. I tried this out but I still had no luck, and I think I did it right. The video is embeded into the slide but I just can't seem to get it to show when I upload to vimeo.

The voice recording part stays but you can't see the video playing in the live presentation. Only In powerpoint when I go to play from the current slide does it show.

Thanks,
