I found the following explanations for noindex and nofollow on the Internet. Why are we taught to put both on the Policy Page when we want it to continue following the rest of

Because it's a page that does not need to be ranked or indexed. It has no SEO vaule. I have all my policy pages at no-index

Thank you, leoemery. I agree the Policy page should not be index but don't we want the search engines to follow to other pages on the site. I have no idea how search engines crawl through the site, which page they start with. If pages follow this page we have designated no follow, would it stop at this page and not finish crawling the rest of the site?

I don't know what I was thinking. I guess if they don't index it then they want be reading it to follow any links. So it doesn't matter really if you put nofollow or not. But I am going to leave it checked anyway because there must be a reason why Kyle said to do that.

No, your whole site gets crawled it does not stop at that page(s). It just ignores indexing the page that page that’s all. And the links if any on those pages don't mean anything either. Because more often than not the only link is to your contact page, and that page is not an SEO benefit page.

Ok...thank you

Hello Mesusu, I think the reason why its because it can be labeled as duplicate content since its very likely that other websites are using the same policy disclaimer. Having duplicate content can affect your site in a negative way in googles eyes, which would prevent it from ranking the way you want it to.

Thank you, Alex' I just realized the code didn't print. I guess I shouldn't have post a code. But I understood the reason to use the noindex is because of the duplicate content, we don't want the search engine crawling this one page, but wouldn't we be taking a chance that the rest of the website wouldn't get index if the search engine stops at this one page. Wouldn't simply clicking noindex prevent it from reading this page but still allow it to continue to follow any links on the page?

Does the profile blog automatically divide into pages if it gets too long or do you create them yourself? If so how?

Hi - if you go into WordPress, then Settings, then Reading, you can choose how many posts you want to appear, before starting the next page.

Hi Diane, thanks for the tip and that is good to know, but I am talking about the blogs you create in your profile section, not on your website.

Oh, do you mean the comments section on your profile page? Where, for example, lots of people have welcomed you and left messages? No, that doesn't divide up, and you can't do it yourself either.

No..:) I am talking about the the post your have written:
Copy Content and Other No-Nos
and Loes
FAQ - frequently asked questions on WA post which shows it containing several pages:

Finally, we get there! So, what I have written are blog posts, which can't be divided. What Loes has written is training material, which can be divided as to however many pages you want.

(You can't write training material unless you have been a premium for at least 3 months)

Ok...that's explain why there isn't a feature to make more pages. Thank you
