Site Comments 2.0 - A Clarification on Using Credits

I just received a comment rejection for the following reason:

Disapproval Reason: I have already acquired the requested number of comments. I received 10 and chose 6 for approval. Thank you for submitting

It’s my understanding that you use 2 credits per the number of comments you request and that’s it. Now, with the new system, you may actually receive more comments than you requested. Those comments don’t cost you any more.

Based on this rejection reason, I’m wondering if the person thought they paid per-comment over what they asked for.

This has not been my experience. I’ve only been charged for what I asked for, even if I approved more than that.

Have you had a different experience?

Am I wrong?

Thanks

Wow, that should NEVER be a reason to disapprove a comment! The more comments the better! I just recently added a new post to my website and requested just 2 comments, but have received over 7. I plan to approve them all as long as they pertain to my post of course. I’m happy to be getting all those comments!

You're right, their loss. 😎

Geez, plus it hurts your approval percentage. I agree, a good training on this would probably help all of us.

The same thing happened to me some few hours ago. I was really surprised because it was a strange reason to disapprove a comment. I have been really careful giving comments and to get disapproved for such a reason made me feel really bad. It’s really strange.

I think maybe a tutorial is in need of. I would, but I'm still a newbie, lol

This is really someone who does not understand the value of a quality comment!

I have received many more comments than I asked for since the inception of version 2.0, but I have never refused a comment on that basis!

I actually love the fact that I don't have to use many credits and get more than what I pay for.

This person just does not understand the system! You are not wrong for sure!

Weird and so annoying!

Yes, one of the benefits of SC2 is that you MIGHT get more comments than you ask for.

I'm not sure if it's intentional and it certainly wasn't widely publicised but I think it works like this - when a request is up for grabs, several people can land on the SC page to look at it. Who knows if they are going to leave a comment? So the system has to keep the page open until a comment is left or the page is closed or the website skipped. So you could theoretically receive dozens of comments :-) although there may be a limit to how many instances of the request may be allowed to be open at any one time.

One member said they lost the comment after 45 minutes but I'm not sure if there is a time limit - there may wellbe. But siad member said if you type a couple of characters into the comment window it stays open.

That's all I know :-)

Sorry about your disapproved comment! The requester seemed to think they had to pick the best of the bunch! If they'd had my luck recently they'd have rejected 3/4! Whatever, it's obvious that a heckuva lot of people don't know how SC works :-( so the more posts like this the better! :-)

Thanks guys...I just thought it was odd. I’m sure it’s just a misunderstanding on their end. No big deal. I just wanted to clarify.

What a reason to have your comment disapproved.

I do not think you are wrong.

I have never paid "additional money" for comments within Site Comments. I have often received more than one comment in return for the two comments I provided. And I never had to pay "additional money" or provide additional comments for those. I consider it a nice bonus.

You are not wrong. That person is.
