I'm Quite Impressed by the New Messaging Options for Our Referrals
As Promised, WA Continues to Add New Features and Improve the Existing Ones!
If you promote WA at all, you probably know about messages. Basically they're autoresponder setups that will send a canned message based on various triggers to your referrals. You might have a simple automated welcome message that's sent 30 minutes after someone joins, following your link.That's great but the old setup only had something like 6 or so messages to be sent and really cut that in half because some were geared toward Starter members and other toward Premium members, etc. Still a nice feature to help automate messages to your referrals.
You had limited control of when to send, what the trigger might be and so on. One of the biggest limitations was it was an all or nothing option, meaning you couldn't set it up on a campaign basis, it simply applied to all of your referrals.
Not Anymore!
WA has updated the system. When I say updated, I mean revamped and enhanced!
Multiple Campaigns
One of the biggest new features is the ability to create multiple campaigns containing various messages and triggers within it. Each campaign has its own referral link. This means you can custom tailor the messages based on your market (i.e. starving students vs work at home moms, etc.).
Think of it, you can truly make the messages custom to your target niche (even if they basically say the same thing). Adding that little bit of targeted customization just provides a better over-all experience for your referrals.
Now you might be thinking "What about my other links that I share (like the article or training affiliate links)?". Not to worry, you can have multiple messaging campaigns and define one as the default. If you don't use one of the campaign specific links, this will cover any of your other referral links.
Statistics
Each campaign provides various statistics for you to gauge how they're doing. Things like number of users this campaign applies to, number of messages, how many messages were sent, how many replies messages received, even upgrade statistics!
Complete Scheduling and Trigger Control
You can now set messages to be sent after x days, hours or even minutes after an event. You also have a large array of trigger events to choose from. You can even message people if they close their account and try to bring them back so-to-speak.Notification Method
If you want to send the member a private message you can. If you'd rather the message end up on their profile, you can do that too. This is a great feature if you want others, who visit the user's profile, to be able to see the message as well.Applicable Group
There's even an option to have the message sent only if the person is a certain type of member here at WA.Conclusion
As you can see, the system is much improved and you now have a lot more granular control over various aspects, as well as new messaging options at your disposal.
I have yet to actually setup my campaigns and my old setup is still my default. That said, in the upcoming weeks I plan to take full advantage of this new messaging system. I think its really going to help in the long run.

The truth is, I have been here over 6 months and never realized the full potential of the old messaging system. The fact it has been revamped is just another benefit.
I guess part of the reason is I don't have anyone that has signed up and opted to go premium. In most cases they signed up, last a day or two, and then left.

With this granular engagement, you can send your referrals words of encouragement, tips, info on where to start, etc. without having to do it manually.
Check it out and setup a few to see what you think of it.
I am impressed as well. I just customized mine last week. The default messages are updated to reflect current info, and offer more outreach. It IS wonderful that we don't have to write these from scratch. Just modify, personalize, and use!
