Hard Sell VS Soft Sell - It's Still Selling
Hard Selling where the salesperson whether in person or online feels really pushy, has never been a challenge for me.
More than not it pushes me to just wait and I will not make a decision in the moment no matter what pressure techniques they try using.
Soft Selling is just the opposite. Its very casual, polite and the salesperson seems genuinely interested in you.
Sometimes you'll get a combination of the two as I did with MOBE some years ago. They are no longer in operation.
In Nov 2020, I experienced the Soft Selling with 2 different companies.
In hindsight, I lowered my guard. Pretty amazing for someone who generally doesn't trust anyone very far.
They are usually paid on commission and of course their focus is to SELL.
I overlooked that fact and looked at it as more of building a relationship with someone and they really do bend over backwards for you.
I just began naively accepting the direction things were going in and assumed they were also interested in my best interest, which is not necessarily the case.
That's my fault. I accept the blame there.
I still need to do my research and due diligence.
It was the more expensive consultation program ($30,000) that got me looking for finer details of what I would receive that led me to some Youtube videos showing the core elements of the program.
I was not impressed.
The lessor priced program would not have served me at all.
So I saved myself $32,500 which I really didn't have to begin with.
Very valuable lessons for me going forward.
I have recently invested in 2 programs for a total under $1500 and was able to see in detail what was included with both and so I am not disappointed with either.
We need to evercise caution and be careful not to let our guard down as I did.
So with my new, smaller investments, I have a lot of training and business building to be doing in the weeks ahead so I may be less active on WA. Sorry Chris! :-)
