I created my first PPC Ad on Bing!

I have a converting page on my fitness site, so I finally, created a small budget and put up my first PPC ad on Bing. It currently is set at $8 per day. I plan on running it for three days to see if my sales increase. I will evaluate the results and adjust a bit more in a few days. I know the budget isn't huge. Right now, I'm still a bit nervous about PPC. However, this offer has been earning me a consistent income each week since January, so sending more traffic to it should increase my sales.

So excited! We'll see what happens!

Can teach us going through a simple tutorial lesson on how to created PPc ad on Bing?

Good luck with that!

That is awesome Melinda. Wishing you all the best. Tadeusz

Wish you much luck with this.

Thant's great. I am about to get into that in the Bootcamp training so it would be great to get another update from you after you see the results.

I'm excited to hear how it goes. I was playing a little on FB to see if I can generate some traffic. Actually is getting a few views. I need to amp up my game but please let me know how it goes.

Hey Melinda,

Three days may not be enough to judge the effectiveness of your campaign. If you want to keep costs down, start at low bids (5 or 6 cents) then continue to raise the bids until you find the sweet spot. This is the spot where you are converting but aren't spending too much. Also, after the first few days, use the results you get from your broad match keywords to determine what people are searching for. Then, you can refine your campaigns to use only phrase match and exact match. This can help you trim the costs as well.

You really need about one week's worth of data to truly determine if a campaign is working for you. Then, you also want to start split testing your ads and your landing pages, changing only one item at a time to see if the changes performs better than the original. By continuing to refine in this manner, you can have a solid campaign that converts for a while.

Kyle in his training, shows how to keep your campaigns relevant, which is important for the quality score of your campaigns. When you have higher quality scores (7+) Bing will reward you with lower bids than what you specify, further saving some money for the campaigns.

The great news is you are starting with a converting page. While there is no guarantee, that should do well with PPC.

Best Regards,
Jim

So, it recommended a $1.50 bid! I left it at that because I wasn’t sure what to do. Does that mean each click costs me $1.50 or that is as ugh as it will go?

Yeah, I never use their recommended bids, Bing or Google. Start out really small like 5 or 6 cents and then move it up in increments of 5 cents to see where you will get traffic. $1.50 is going to eat your budget and give you little to no insight into your metrics.

There is no limit to how many times you can raise your bid. I can get decent positions at around 15 cents to 18 cents on many of my ads coming in often at third and fourth ad positions. Sometimes, Bing will tell you that your ad won't be shown on the first page at your current bids but that is BS because I get good positioning at that current bid. They just try to get you to bump your advertising up so they can get more money.
