How to Find Your Niche Online

When I started working through Wealthy Affiliate's Affiliate bootcamp, I thought that I would use the niche of people who had disabilities since I could relate to that. There are tons of people who have disabilities who don't know how to earn an income. An online income strategy such as the one that Wealthy Affiliate offers is ideal because many people with disabilities have an unusual schedule with plenty of doctor visits and days when they aren't feeling well. They need to earn money and doing it online is very reasonable for people who sometimes lack transportation. However, I didn't love this niche. I kept looking for good keywords and I found it quite a stretch to keep telling people with a disability to become an affiliate marketer. It didn't resonate with me.

Luckily, I kept writing! I talked with friends and discovered that a few of my friends wanted help writing a book, something that I had experience with. This is something that I get excited about. I love the aspect of creating something that other people will read and find informative! As I did some research, I discovered that the competition for writing books was less than the competition for disability blogs. I have taken a handful of courses online regarding writing books. I knew that I could take that knowledge and apply it to affiliate marketing. Not to mention, we are heading into November soon and it is Nanowrimo (National novel writing month) is coming up!

My best recommendation for finding your niche online is to just write. Write about things that you know about. Research the topics that you like to write about and discover if there are keywords that have high search volume, but low competition. Keep plugging away. You will eventually refine what your niche is and as you do so, you will discover your voice as an author. You will enhance your knowledge. You will find your niche online!

When I wrote my first book, my mentor emphasized the importance of deadlines to me. She explained that most people don't want to put their book out into the marketplace because it isn't ready. We will never be completely ready. Your niche will never be perfect. As you delve more into the topic, you will discover more and more about the niche that you hadn't even thought about.

Finding your niche online is more of a process than a one time decision. You will find your niche as you go through the process. I love that the wealthy affiliate community has supported me during the process. I have discovered some wonderful ideas here and so many people have helped me out! Thanks a bunch!

You are right! Just like doing something to pass the time will help you decide what it is you need to write for that next blog, just writing, itself, spawns other ideas and some of them might actually be better than what you are writing right now!

Great advice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your feedback!

No problem :-)
