A Different Approach to Blogging and Affiliate Marketing

Yesterday, I wanted to finally type up the notes I jotted down almost 2 weeks ago about the next post in my 'Remembering our Why' Series (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/megawealthy9/blog/rememberin...). The promised "Printing your Own Money and Digging for Gold: a Family Business"... but I stopped in my tracks and was inspired to look at 2 questions I received instead.

I answered them and that gave me the idea for this blog post... to share my answers with more people who might be interested in a different approach to blogging and affiliate marketing... a more INTUITIVE APPROACH...

I know there are lots of excellent WA blog posts here on WA to teach people LOGICAL WAYS to do great with writing/blogging and affiliate marketing. I feel I would not have anything to add about this topic (the logical approach) so I am not going to try.

In this post, I would like to share MY personal approach, because it seems to be different from what I've been reading here...

*

This is NOT a post about best practices... this is about MY personal approach.

I am not saying that you should do things the way I do... and I certainly do not have any financial results yet to back up MY approach to blogging and affiliate marketing... I do have a lot of results in terms of Joy and positive impact in other people's lives. So if these two aspects are important to you, as they are to me, then you may be interested in reading the rest of this blog post.

*

First Question

Here is the first question I received, about writing/blogging:

"Could i just ask how do you get a lot of people to read your post ?"

I answered:

"How do I get a lot of people to read my post? I pray, ask for guidance and follow my intuition. :-) I follow my intuition and I get inspired to write about a certain topic... I follow my heart. <3

I'm sure other people use more "logical" steps but this is the most logical way to me. :-)

Your heart knows the way... you just need to trust enough/have faith and follow your heart."

*

Second Question

The second question was about my WA blog post "My Current Email List Building System - Free Minimalist Version" (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/megawealthy9/blog/my-current...). A fellow WA member asked me to clarify something.

And this leads me to this second part of this post

My intuitive approach to affiliate marketing...

Even with technical aspects of affiliate marketing, I DO A LOT INTUITIVELY... I find things, I get ideas, I'm "guided" by my intuition and inspiration... it's super helpful and super productive but then I don't always remember how I got there and it can be hard for me to do it again or explain how I made it work...

When I feel stuck, when my head feels overloaded, when I'm not sure what to do, I do my best to take a break... Ideally, I sleep on it... before I go to bed, I write on a piece of paper what it is I would like to achieve... and I ask "How can I do this?" "What do I need to do?" I do that as often as possible and I get answers. Sometimes, I just ask these questions out loud on the spot, and the answer comes to me within seconds... it's really cool. And I believe anyone can do that. :-)

When I was training as an electrician and domotica specialist a year ago, I did an internship with a very smart, intelligent and logical electrical engineer who had decided to change career and set up his own domotica installation business. We were installing a domotica system in a new house. He was using the same method. Asking this type of questions out loud. And he would find the answers within seconds or minutes.

*

Asking questions to the WA community or Site Support

And then, when my intuition is not enough, or in addition, I do ask questions to our very knowledgeable and helpful WA community or Site Support.

I feel so blessed that there has always been someone ready to answer my questions within minutes. This has been a HUGE help and a game changer to keep me going on this beautiful adventure of blogging and affiliate marketing.

*

Truly, without this amazing community support, I would have given up long ago. Immense gratitude to all of you.

*

I hope this was helpful for some.

Have a beautiful weekend. I'm not going to be very present because I have a meeting this afternoon and my public speaking engagement tomorrow ("Public Speaking Opportunity" https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/megawealthy9/blog/public-spe...). And by the way, this public speaking opportunity came to me because I followed my intuition... :-)

To our Success,

Nathalie

P.S. I wanted to add, following a thought-provoking comment I received below this post, that I do follow a lot of training to learn from other people's experience, here on WA and in other places... that's what my intuition tells me sometimes... that I need to learn from other more experienced people.

To me, it's not a "either/or" situation... either the logical way or the intuitive way... either the head or the heart...

It's a "and/and" situation... the logical way AND the intuitive way... the head AND the heart...

Just that the heart leads and the head serves... not the other way around... :-) <3

Great questions and even better answers. When things seem tough the tough turn to the source of all our strength...Prayer.

The sharing of your approach I think i will (and others also hopefully) be helpful. Some parts I already use but try to be too “logical” in my thinking about blogging.

Writing a blog is not like writing a history report or a technical paper about operating a wood lathe to make a bowl. I am beginning to see more and more a blog shares a personal relationship. To attract and retain readers it is necessary to include interesting little things that they can truly relate to in their life.

Best wish for a great and powerful speaking engagement tomorrow. Maybe will be today since we are in different time zones.

Barry

Thank you so much, dear Barry! :-) I'm speaking in 17h to be more precise. :-) Sunday morning at 10:15am Belgian time... :-)

Yes, indeed, I've come to realise too that blogging is about building a relationship with our audience. And sharing personal stuff allows our audience to relate to us. We are, in the end, all the same... in the sense that we all experience the same emotions for various reasons in our lives. Emotions are key...

Nathalie

I think your intuition is certainly the way to go. And if you ask/pray/think about it at night before bed you may have help in the morning. I like your style.

Thanks a lot, Suzanne! :-)

I just decided to go a different route myself. I spent a lot of time planning a post. Now I am just writing. Used to try to make them sound so "knowledgeable" which I figure was maybe my issue. I decided to just write, keeping in my what I want for my keyword, but just writing like normal. Just started it this week. Going to go back tomorrow and reread it to see what it sounds like. I may not like it and go back to the old way but going to give it a shot. I get click throughs for affiliate links but not a lot of actual follow through which makes me wonder if they clicked it by accident like I do sometimes on a site when I am trying to scroll but click by mistake.

Great insight Katie. You have caused the wheels in my mind to spin.

Barry

Your audience may relate to your site with your new way of writing.

I understand... then the questions to ask would be something like "What can I do to convert my audience into buyers?" and your intuition may guide you to some extra training here about this on WA? I do follow a lot of training to learn from other people's experience, here on WA and in other places... that's what my intuition tells me sometimes... that I need to learn from other more experienced people.

To me, it's not a "either/or" situation... either the logical way or the intuitive way... either the head or the heart...

It's a "and/and" situation... the logical way AND the intuitive way... the head AND the heart...

Absolutely, Suzanne! :-)

Thanks a lot, Dave! :-)

I love that you even have a best practice in the first place. This dictates a lot to me and also puts best practice at the top of my palette. Thanks Nathalie.

My pleasure, Dion! :-)

Nathalie

Another very interesting post from you. Thank you for sharing it. 👍

My pleasure, Matthew! :-)

Nathalie

Thanks for the Nathalie, an approach similar to mine, particulary about remembering how I did something!

Make sure you enjoy tomorrow, I'm sure you will

Kevin

Thanks a lot, Kevin! :-) Nice to hear that our approaches are similar. :-)

Yes! I am "seriously" planning to enjoy it tomorrow!

Nathalie

First off, I hope tomorrows 'Speaking Gig' is a fantastic success for you. You may have even found an alternate vocation. Either way, enjoy.
I love that you follow your intuition and let ideas and thoughts evolve more naturally rather thna having to force them out. We 'squeeze' them out and then have to try and make sense of them. They're all squashed up and need teasing back into shape before we can truly understand them.
There certainly seem to a number of different 'schools of thought' with regards to content/blogs. I sometimes wonder if the end 'goal' has more influence on how you approach it.
Thank you Nathalie.

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words for tomorrow, Twack! :-)

Yes! I personally believe that our goal has a big influence on how we approach it...

Have a great weekend,

Nathalie

Always welcome.

🙂

Great post and have great success in your career.

Thanks a lot, Robert. :-)
