The Post Christmas Phase

Well as many of you will understand the frenetic pace in the lead up to Christmas and then comes Christmas Day, the relaxation, the abundance of food, the family, the gifts - so easy to just be. It is so easy for this to turn into days, then weeks, especially here in Australia where the days are hot, the kids are on summer holidays, and everything just seems to be more relaxed for a few weeks after Christmas.

I fell into this a bit the past couple of days. I had Christmas Day with my family and it was a hot one of 36 degrees celsius! Thank goodness for the air-conditioning which I put on early to beat the heat. I had a shift at work on Boxing Day so up out of the house at 5am and not returning until nearly 7pm so just wanted to chill after a hot, busy day.

Wednesday i got up to discover my garage door was broken so madly called around trying to find a company that hadn't taken the usual Australian tradie tradition of taking two weeks off at this time of year! A couple of calls had messages "We will reopen on the 8th of January" - what the! I can't get my garage door up or my car out! Thankfully found a guy that came out Thursday and repaired it early in the morning for me - we have a car again. This forced hiatus gave us time to do some things around the house - sort presents, work out how they go together, find where they are going to live; tidy kids rooms and the house.

Yesterday was dad's birthday so I took mum, the kids, and met my brother and sister-in-law at the nursing home for morning tea with dad. I then went to get our tickets to go to England next year! So excited!

As I walked on the treadmill this morning thinking about where I am and what I want to be doing I realised I was quickly, and way to easily, falling into the post-Christmas laze. The two days I had planned to have off from WA for the family and work had quickly morphed into 4. I needed to get it back on track!

So today is about catching up on WA, working out my goals and planning for the year ahead for my website, my personal budget, and our England trip.

What are your goals for 2018?

Regards,

Megan

Megan, thanks for the update and for asking. Primary WA goal is one training session per workday, developing a website for my bride and myself, and posting website articles every other day. Jay

I start by getting on the treadmill track next Tuesday Megan!

I have to work Wednesday-Friday next week so thought I would get some work done whilst I had a couple of days because nothing happens on work days, unfortunately.
