Feeling disillusioned

I'm starting to feel a bit disillusioned. I thought I was on the right track. I had started building money in my Adsense account but it's totally stopped. I've got nothing from my affiliate links. I know I've only been back since October but I've been working hard. I'm creating content. I'm using keywords. I'm doing everything outlined in the lessons but it feels like I'm treading water.

I had a goal that by the end of this year I would be making $100 per week - not a huge figure by any standards but to me it would signify the beginning. I keep writing. I keep going with Twitter, Google+, Facebook, Pinterest but I'm getting no interaction. I don't know what else to do. I'm worried that if I don't start getting traffic soon my affiliates will dump me and then where will I be?

I just looked at my Google Webmaster Tools but I'm really struggling to make heads or tails of this and Google Analytics. I really don't think I've understood the training on how to read these OR there wasn't adequate training. I see my posts are ranked in Google but it appears none of my keywords are ranking. I don't understand this. Can anyone point me to some training to understand this?

I'm going to keep going. This is going to work - eventually. Besides the fact I'm enjoying my blog.

This all sound familiar. We all have a lot of competition out there . That’s where we have to come up with content and ideas to push forward.

Megan, you and me are in the same boat. I understand enough about Google Analytics and Search Console to get the gist of it but there's a lot that was not taught to us. But that's where we have to figure out some of the answers for ourselves.

I have to admit, I wouldn't have gotten where I'm at without the WA training but with that being said it's up to us to progress with our own training. I still have a lot of questions and my training may never be fully complete but every day I am learning something new.

My big problem now is when I look on Google Search and see 250 keywords I'm ranked for (none of them are front page unfortunately) and the majority of them are not what my keywords are. I have like 10 that are not even showing up as my keywords despite placing them in the title, first paragraph, in the content and at the end of those pages. How does that work?

Building a website is far from an exact science but it's what makes our sites unique. I had a problem like yours last week where everything just stopped, traffic and everything went to zero. My site was down and it took site support 3 days to get it back online.

It was a mess but now I'm back to normal and plugging away, because that's what we do, we don't give up we move forward. Thank you for your post, it was a good reminder of what we need to do.

Megan, we have a common observation. for the last month, the traffic of my site starts to increase but it suddenly dropped. It's not only the traffic but also the bounce rates it went to something 0.09 and that's the first time I've seen that. I don't know if this is a technical concern of WA as a Web Host.

I did not yet bring this to the Management because I thought I made a mistake somewhere else, but if it's a common experience for most of us I think it's WA's concern to check on this.

The last sentence of your post gives significance to why you are here! You are enjoying it. I, too, have been working constantly for the past few months at making this work and have seen little activity. However, I have not given up. This week, I finally have gotten a few more comments and people have begun to click and buy from 2 of my 6 sites. It is very little revenue to begin with, but it has begun!...just as I had faith that it would.

I keep plugging away and know that the more I do and the longer I continue, I will be successful. It takes 3-4+ months to build your business to where it will get consistent traffic. Hold on and keep doing what you're doing.

I joined in September of 2016 and took a leave due to an injury, but now I'm back and more excited than ever!

As for the training, I had to go over it all again a second time and found so much I had missed, and I am still applying more to my sites. Feel free to read my blogs for encouragement.

There are places to comment after each training if you have questions, and also a whole community and leaders to help you...you are not alone on this venture! I would also be happy to give you a hand when you need it, if only to give you encouragement.

I wish you all the very best and hang in there! Glad to connect and see you around! Just remember, you can do anything you put your mind to!

I'm glad that you are enjoying your blog; if you can, try to focus on that enjoyment and less on the other details.

I know it can be hard. I used to check Google Analytics compulsively. I would stress over the traffic, or lack thereof, and it made me miserable. It also made me question whether or not this could work. I think the best you can do is to continue pumping out content, asking for feedback and comments from the community here. Personally, every sale and referral I have had came after I stopped worrying and decided to just go with the flow.

Virtually everyone who is now doing well has said that there was a point that everything just "clicked". The hard part was waiting for that moment to arrive.

Just hafta keep on and it will come!
