Need a new computer. What kind of computer do you use?
Hi everyone! I think I'm going to need to invest in a new computer soon. I currently have an iMac (early 2008) which continuously gives me fits! I also have an iPad which I do 95% of my WA work on. It's okay but ideally I would like a laptop. Does anyone have any Mac laptop suggestions? Thanks and have a successful day!
Meagan~BTW~this is my first blog! not sure if I created it correctly! :)

It's all about perceived intangible values. For me, graphics and multimedia seems to fly without a glitch on OSX. Maybe just me. People seem to under value things like virus and worms that seem to be plaguing Windows PC.
The way OSX is implemented adds value. I used to build Windows PC and sure you get a great deal when it comes to just the specs. Yeah...maybe you can virtualize OSX on a Windows PC, but seems like a lot of overhead to do it that.
Just out of curiosity, when was the last time someone had to remove a worm or virus from their Mac? So is it just brand equity? Maybe some of it is.
BTW.. my my iMac 24" Mid 2007 logic board just died on me so now I'm on a Windows XP laptop (which will no longer be support after April :( ). After years of installing and uninstalling software, it has gotten really slow and sluggish.
Not that Windows PC is bad, it's just that Apple has focused on the user experience and not the specification because it has control over hardware and software and has learned from it's mistake in licensing of their operating system in the past.
Not sure, whether if this make much sense ? Is such an expense really required ? , there equivalent windows based machine , selling in for much lesser price .....
I'm a hardware technician & trust me there is no much difference in hardware sold by different companies .
Apple makes good money bcos of its brand equity .....
LOL! I like how you operate Wayne. And that's exactly what I do as well. So far so good. It's just time to upgrade. Thanks for sharing.
Macbook Air if you have the cash....what am I saying...you're a WAer. Just write it off as a business expense. Light...long battery life. Tried doing WA stuff on iPad. Not easy.
If you have more money, then Macbook Pro. More power for Photoshop and Video Editing. But I think the Macbook Air will suffice for your. Maybe check on Craigslist? or refurbish? They can get pretty pricey. Try bartering it still works. What might not be valuable to you has more value to someone else.
Not many selection to Apple laptops other than size of your screen and other internal components.
