Hi WA's

Im sure theres an explaination for this ????

Why am a getting notifications of registered users on my site, only to find they are posting and blogging advert

It's general settings, Membership, anyone can Register. Make sure it is not checked, and then delete them.

Thanks!

Yes, under your General Settings, there is a checkbox for "anyone can register". I think you may have that checked. If you uncheck it and then make sure you have Akismet or some other spam blocking plugin in place, you should be ok. With Akismet, just make sure you can moderate the comments.

thank you for the response I will give it a try.

Ive wondered after looking at several different profiles, what do you think as far as the number of profile pics should one use on the their profile at W.A.?

Hi, I don't think there's an ideal number as far as how many pictures you have to post. It just depends on you and how you want to be known, or the things that are most important to you. This is an online community, we don't know each other physically, so I think the pictures you post portray who you are, what matters to you and how you will like people to remember you. So go ahead and post more pictures!!!

Hi onyekachi
I agree with you, thanks

Hello. I personally think its just an expression of one self(amt of pic posting). In some ways its part of the branding. I think the underlying thing is to keep your niche engaged on the website. Everyone's personality and take on it will be different. And thats what makes us all unique. The point is as long as your marketing effectively with your niche, they will keep coming back. Engaging with your niche, asking questions, responding to them will let them know we care & are genuine with what were pitching. I feel the best way to capture an audience is when the thought of "purchasing" doesnt even come to their mind. That somehow they just got to try this. Etc.. And thats the power of MARKETING.. ;)

Good points Maricel.
thanks for your comments.

I agree with everything that has been said here. This is your space to express your personality. Now I also agree with mdvs42 and I think there is a limit to what you want to post here but everyone has different personalities. So I think everyone will have a different amount of photos.

You can use as many as you like. There is no strategy behind this, you can update your image depending on how you are feeling and how you want to represent yourself here.

People with real pictures of themselves typically get the best engagement though. :)

I agree can you really have too many?

I'm not sure that it matters...maybe just personal preference. I use a silly pic for my main pic, so I added another "normal" picture of myself. Then I added a pic of my dog and a tropical theme in keeping with my user ID.

Hi Tropic67
I agree if you can add some funny ones it show your sense of humor. I think a good mix is good.

can anyone explain why my page attributes keep disapearing?

OK got it, I went into quick edit and to the right I found the number sequence and did it that way. If you look at my site, myathomeincome.com you see the order of the pages at the top bar I wanted to arrange,ie: home, about me, working from home, why wealthy aff and so on.

Yay! Crack on!!

i was wanting to re arrange my page orders and was able to do so earlier in my page attributes ( by number) but I now I cant find my page attribute in my dashboard?

You re-arrange the page order in the menu -- Appearance => Menus. Under the menu structure just drag and drop the menu tabs to the order you want them and save menu.

Hi MT....I think that you need you give a little more description. I am sure anyone would be happy to help! Have a great weekend. :) Melanie

Hi Melanie,

Does anyone have an answer to how to add a "continue on next page" to continue a post? Ive already tried adding insert more tag and that doesnt work?

MT, are you trying to add more content to your post on the edit portion?? Or are you trying to do the "continue to read" from a previous post before you do your next post?

Yes Sharon I was wanting continue to the next page i guess? so do I add a page and just continue? maybe im making this harder than it has to, but with reading the continue on the kitchen sink thing just didn't work

If it's just doing a long post, shouldn't you just be able to continue to write as long as you want on the page? I've had some really long posts and never had to stop. I'm sure this will all get figured out . . . . .
No worries :-)

Hi, Sharon
I have been trying that and when I update nothing happens?
I put my cursor at the bottom of the post to "continue" but it doesn't work? but thanks for the reply. hopefully I'll figure out whats going on.

You know, this is one of those times where I wish we didn't have so much high tech stuff. It just gets our thinking in a muddle. Think back to reading something on paper. You got to the end of a page and if would say "continued on page..." So why not do the same now? Get to the end of the page, type "continued on page x ====> (arrow my idea) and then at the top of next page, type "page x continued"

Simple, straightforward and anyone who can't read THAT shouldn't be reading your blog anyhow :) Hope I helped a bit...

HI MT. When I do the continue on my posts, I use the kitchen sink tool bar on my edit page. I click on the insert link (on the first level, third one from the left) Make sure you have your cursor where you want your page to stop and then update. Hope that helps.
