I am using the Divi theme. It is not playing nice with the site content creator. I would like to change the theme and redesign site. Is this possible? Is there a training on

I see you got your answer but just to let you know, I did it a lot at first so you should succeed without a hitch.

Those hitches keep getting me! Thanks.

Hi May, as others metioned, you can do a live preview to check out how other themes will look with your content. There are rarely any problems but it's always a good idea to back up your site first. Another thing you can do is set up a test site with some "dummy" content and test out new themes and play around with them first before changing your main site. If you have things like a header image or logo for example that requires new sizing in the theme, you can set that up on your test site as well so when you switch themes it's ready to go.

I tried to set up a dummy site rubix site. I made the mistake of using the same name as my real site. The dummy stuff was automatically moved to the real site. What a mess of spaghetti.

Have you ever experienced this?

Hi May, I haven't had that experience. So, you didn't move your site over at all, it just moved automatically?

Yes, in a word!

In a word, thanks!

👍

You can activate a new theme. Then do a live preview. This will let you see what your site will look like before actually changing themes.

Apache1 has told you how to activate it.

You can activate and live preview as many as you want. One that you are sure you don't want can be deleted.

I am using generate press theme. It's the one Jay recommends. I have the paid version but either free or paid look pretty good.

I am using the Divi them and divi builder. It is very sophisticated and my web building skills are not! Sometimes I am just over my head. Thanks for the lifeline.

As a premium member you can change your theme with thousands to choose from. Go to your Dashboard on your website click appearance then thems at the top you will see add new select the one you want and activate

Thanks so much for the instructions on how to do this. I didn't want to lose anything in the process.

You are very welcome May just remember that with some themes you may need to add back anything you have in the side bar that is because you are changing themes and it may not show as your last theme.
But that is a quick fix anyway as they should be on your left side down the bottom to add back on.

Wishing you well.

Andre

There is no WA app. If you have one claiming to be it's a fake and if you used your password for here, change it.
