What day is today?
Hi everyone, Today is The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated notably by the Chinese and Vietnamese people. The celebration is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to late September to early October of the Gregorian calendar with a full moon at night. Most of the family friends will be having mooncake and go with tea.
What is mooncake? Mooncakes consist of a thin, tender pastry skin enveloping a sweet, dense filling, and may contain one or more whole salted egg yolks in their center as the symbol of the full moon. The traditional type will be bake, they also have snow skin mooncake, which is a cold type.
Mooncakes Symbolize Family Reunion. In Chinese culture, roundness symbolizes completeness and togetherness. A full moon symbolizes prosperity and reunion for the whole family. Round mooncakes complement the harvest moon in the night sky at the Mid-Autumn Festival.
I wish you all Happy Mid Autumn festival, with your family and friend.
