Before I go ahead and start my website I would like to know what you guys think of my domain name www.swimagainstthecurrent.
Well, the good thing is, it's a .com which has to be a Plus! As for the name itself, it is an adage I believe so most people would recognise that. It's also got no hyphens in it either, which is another plus point.
For me, the domain is a bit too long though. When thinking of a good domain name I like to use the radio test. Imagine someone is reading your site out aloud on the radio and you're in the car. Would you need to make a note of it somewhere so as to remember it? Would it stick in your head at least until you arrived home so you could sit down at your PC? Would you need clarification on how it's spelt? Does it roll off the tongue nicely, without having to make a special effort with the pronunciation? If the answer to any of these questions is Yes (or No for the last one), then you should think again, perhaps.
I use DomainsBot.com quite a lot for finding suitable domain names as well as Panabee.com.
If you can, try and think of a name that is as short as possible - ideally 10 or eleven characters or less (excluding the extension). That said, one of mine breaks that rule though (ExpertITHelp.com) so it's not a hard and fast rule, just a guideline.
Hope this helps!
Nicky
You mean www.swimagainstthecurrent.com. I arrived at a Parked Page so I think so! No content at the moment, obviously.

I would like some feedback on my domain name?

Hi Matt, I did a quick bit of checking for ya. Just a little heads up, Over 50% of folks nowdays are using mobile gizmos to access the www for buying. That's good news(make sure you use a mobile compatible theme!!) because voip(voice activated) is also highly used. I checked your name on my phone using voip. It carried well, so if YOU like it, go for it. Your name might have better response though as---
www(dot)swimagainstthetide. swim against the tide. If that is avaliable anyway. All the best. (-: J
