Progress Update 2 - Freebies, Amazon, Pinterest And New Homepage
Recently, I'm spending more (or maybe too much) time setting up some technical things on my blog, than on creating new content.
So my recent wins:
1. Created a freebie (Grocery shopping guide to help people save on shopping) and an embedded form for this using Mailerlite. Hope it will bring more subscribers.
2. Created a second freebie - Ways to avoid scams online + printable check up list. Added to the homepage.
3. Redesigned my Homepage from simple blog roll to more magazine like page. To do this I had to revisit all my posts and re-tag them to few clear categories.
I hope it will bring my visitors to stay longer on my website, as it's easier now to see more posts that might be interesting. The blog roll is still there, just under the category blocks.
You are welcome to take a look (right bottom corner of profile, you know)
4. Got an approval from Amazon. I'm official affiliate now, though I barely have any links on my website, except one book and Amazon Prime. I've got my 3 sales with the help of other bloggers, nothing organic yet.
Thanks to WA friends who have explained what we need to have - Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclaimer, Specific in-post disclaimer before the link. It worked and I passed the review.
5. I'm working on growing my Pinterest profile and creating new pins. It's very new to me. One of my pins is quite successful (in my measures) with 2.1K views and about 50 clicks. It's the most depressing looking pin I've made! No pink and flowers, all dark and scary. I guess it just stands out in the pinkish sea of Pinterest.
If you are curious - check in my Pinterest profile. It becomes my second traffic source.
Unfortunately - no good news about income. Only some tiny commissions from one app I've reviewed. Well, I barely create content. Need to get back to it.
Happy Holidays, WA friends!
Mary

Looks really good, well done. Mine still super basic but still less than 2 months here.
Looked at your Pinterest account, that will be on my list shortly as hopefully be on level 4 of the online entrepreneur training soon which is social media.
Do you use Canva for your infographics? If so is it easy to master? I played with it for half an hour but then gave up.
Well done, I reckons your sales will start soon, are you getting traffic?
Have a good Christmas
I'm here more than 6 months, but my progress is slow (I have full time job and kids). I didn't complete the training.
I use Canva for pins. It's not complicated but takes some practice. I still don't remember the names of my favorite fonts lol.
And I get big images from other sources as well.
Pinterest brings some traffic. Sales is another story.
I'm not really focused on promoting any specific product.
There are many affiliate links in the posts, but barely sales.
Need more content
I think your right content is king. My niche isn't really a niche as its a wide topic but its a passion and a growing area but sales will be something else, its a long term thing for me and once I feel comfortable with the process will look at either the bootcamp or a more specific revenue generating niche.
Where do you get other images from, from free sources just as pixbay or are there others?
Well done, your doing well if your working full time and have a family. I work 12 hours a week and have a dog so don't have that excuse!!
The theme is ColorMag.
I don't use plugins, just one for Social shares, however, the theme has them as well.
All the stuff is done by widgets - the slider and featured posts.
I would like to congratulate you for your achievements in the Amazon website too that I am very little to get clicks in amazon but we should not despise that one day we will be reaching something
