Hi, does anyone know whether we need access to CPanel if we get accepted by Mediavine? One of my blogs that is currently hosted here on WA is close (yay!) and as soon as I hi
WA is managed hosting so you don't have access to cPanel. Anything that you would use cPanel for needs to be requested from Site Support.
While cPanel access is not explicitly necessary for Mediavine, however if that you can get in touch with site support

Hi, are you saying that you think cPanel is NOT necessary for Mediavine? Just trying to clarify! Thanks.
There are several WA members who use mediavine :) For anything it requires on the technical side, you’ll be able to provide it via site support. Congrats!
No problem :)
Not explicitly necessary; however, I would reach out to site support and ask them if you can install their plugin.

Hi, I'm wondering.....if I share a WA blog post (either mine or someone else's) with my affiliate link and someone signs up from that blog post....would that referral be labele
Your sign up links are directed to specific pages depending on the link you chose.
If you share a post, it won't be considered as a join link, therefore, you're promoting the place for free.
I don't think the customized links are used to be able to track signups.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong
"Promoting the place for free?"
Not quite understanding your answer here....as each blog post has an affiliate link....so I would be sharing them with my affiliate link which should track back to me if someone signs up from it.....correct?
No, you will not be able to tell which specific blog post it came from unless you set up a custom link in order to track it.
OK thanks. I wasn't concerned with knowing WHICH blog post it came from, simple that it came FROM a blog post. Will I be able to know that much from however WA labels it?
I thought the customized links were to have stats about the traffic we got on certain blogs
Well, they are. I'm just learning about the tracking though and trying to set up different tracking links to make sure that I know where my signups are coming from. Got it all set for the most part, but just not sure how those shared WA blog posts work.

Hi, is there any way to transfer posts from a wordpress.com blog over to a blog here at WA? Someone just asked me that question and I'm uncertain as I've never used wordpress.
Hey Mary,
Might this post help you: https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
Not having used their platform in a loooong time now, I'm hoping I've found the correct instructions for you.
Question - how to move posts off of wordpress dot com?

I've seen several different opinions about this issue and now I'm confused. Is it OK or not OK to post in multiple categories?
In my opinion, it is better to have fewer categories but post fresh content regularly than posting the same content in say 20 different categories.
If you have set up different categories on your site you can place your post within different categories if it's appropriate.
There is no duplicate content because the listing within the different categories is the link to the post itself not a duplication of the content.
OK thanks. But why isn't it considered duplicate content then? Since the title and content would be the same. Only the category would be different.
It's not duplicate content. As I said - when placing content into a category it's just the link that is within that category - you are not replicating the content to place it in the category - you could have it in 10 different categories makes no difference - as what you see is just a snippet of the content within that catagory, and when you click the link it will take you to the content.
Leo is the man on this topic my friend!!
It's one heading
It's one permalink
It's one slug
It's one post
It's one source document
All edits are performed in one spot
All fetch as google / Bing are for one single post
It's on one website......it just happens to be displayed via multiple categories.
Hope that helps. Cheers
