For those of you that have been struggling with how or if to post anything to Google+, your worries appear to be over.

Just read that Google is shutting down the consomer version of G+. Here's the CNN article I read that tells the story.

I, myself, have always had kind of a love/hate relationship with G+, and now it appears that I no longer have to worry about that either!

Although I'm not active on Google + I did get a little more traffic but I think it was just the one or two days after I registered. I struggle to find myself to get on it daily so it doesn't affect me to be honest. I don't quite mind that it's being shut down, one less thing to worry about!

OH wow! I can't believe They're shutting this down. Any idea on when this will happen?

Not sure exactly but I think I read in one article that it would be over the next 10 months. Not sure why it would take that long.....

Yay! I never liked G+ anyway. Good riddance.

I feel bad for those who put a lot of time into it though!

Thank you for sharing this news, I am trying to be active at Google+ but I am struggling to get traffic. I need to check it out, do you think, Pinterest is a better platform to be in?
Jacqueline

I'm not that active on Pinterest as of yet but I've heard that it is a great place to get traffic for your blog. But I think it does depend on exactly what your niche is. I plan to use Pinterest much more in the future.

Of all social media platforms I use Pinterest the most - Twitter comes in next.
Like Mary-Elle stated below the value in Pinterest does lie somewhat in what your niche is but it caters to such wide and diverse areas of interest I'm sure you will find it useful.

That's put a spanner in the works for the mighty G....

Good to know. Thanks for passing it on.

Good evening Mary-Elle,

Just as well I am so busy with Pinterest that I decided not to do other social media, enough hay on my fork already.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hi, Taetske...how are you finding Pinterest for generating traffic?

Good evening James.

Pinterest has indeed improved traffic but I could use a lot more.
I make those pins with my cat photo and new post and some of them got a lot of impressions which of course are not visitors but still...
Sometimes I repin these to other boards. In total, I think Pinterest really helps but it is also work/time.

Good evening, Taetske.

I heard a lot about Pinterest, and it's good that you are getting a lot of impressions about your cat photo...

Yes, as good as it might be, I think it is also a great deal of work/time.

James

That is a surprise to me I didn't know that. Maybe that is a good thing because I tried to use Google + and it comes back to my email so I gave up. It had frustrated me that is why I gave up on it.

Mary

Blimey that’s a biggie!!! Especially for people here at WA where it is used wisely to share content.
Personally only ever used it to help ranking so that leaves a bit of a hole when it comes to that strategy!!!
It has been on the cards for years I believe so was only a matter of time.

Just saw that as well. I was starting to like the platform. Onward through the fog!
