How much would you be happy earning?

So I have worked through course 2 and at the end I got to read about the ambassador program. This is incredibly interesting and something that I will be striving for.

One of the tasks was to cruise the thread where people post their financial goals and the time they have to dedicate.

I have one issue with this thread and that is NOT the thread itself. I think it is great to have financial goals and the accountability that goes with posting them along with a time allocation is great. However the route to true success is more than financial.

I appreciate that we are all on our own journey and I have a few suggestions to improve the thread.

From the administrators I would love to see a section for people’s non-financial goals. For example being able to spend more time at home, to be able to set up their own foundation, to fulfil their life's purpose and mission.

From the participants I would love to see commitment. The thread is littered with non-committal statements such as "I will commit as much time as I can", "earn enough money to get by" and "Hopefully" or "as much as possible".

These statements allow for a way out, can scream scepticism and that people have not committed to their financial freedom and future. If your goal is to earn $500 a month add a 0 to that. Think big, look at your life, be specific and if you are truly dedicated to success you will make the time, not wait for the time to present itself. Don't watch that last episode of Game of Thrones, skip the X-factor, stay up a little later, do anything to find time by replacing non-productive tasks with ones that will change your life.

After reading through this post I realise this may come across as a rant but rest assured it is not. I love seeing people post their financial goals and how much time they wish to spend achieving them. I am just passionate about self-development and others self-development and the importance of a positive mind-set, coupled with the word of the day.... commitment.

I really like this. Its good advice. Pegging down a specific amount and time per day to achieve that goal instead of "enough to get by" or "as much time as needed" might not engineer some active commitment. Since I joined WA, I have essentially stopped watching TV. I don't know how that happened because I looove to watch TV a lot. But I realized if I have to learn, the foundation must be built and it must be rock solid. One other thing I've been doing is staying up a little bit late so I can learn more and work more on my website while the kids are asleep. That way I have more focus and achieve a lot more without distractions. Its 2:55 am. I think its enough for today. Will pick up the education later today.

It's true. If you want something bad enough sacrifices will be made to achieve them. I, like you, find myself watching less TV and because I drive a lot for my day job I don't really listen to the radio anymore but I will listen to business and self development audio books instead.

I may treat myself to a good Spotify playlist on a Friday afternoon on the way home though :o)

wishing you all the best in your online pursuits. let me know how you are getting on.
