Your Worth Isn't Measured By Money

Hey there!

I have this on my mind and just wanted to share it with you, especially if you're just starting out.

I came across an old list of sites that I used to comment on all the time. It was so sad to see that many of them had no updates since last year.

Another incident happened where I've been trying to get a friend of mine to build affiliate programs and she hasn't been interested until I told her what my site that I started in January is evaluated as. Then all of a sudden she became very interested.

I was very offended by her sudden change because of money although I didn't show it or say anything. But these aren't single cases. I think they happen a lot.

While we all look to online business to make money, is that the only thing we get from doing this?

Personally, I've had monumental shifts in my mindset, confidence, knowledge, goals, and so much more things that money could never buy.

My biggest site is thriving today but started off making nothing. I really want to show my results to people but I'm too afraid to yet I feel like hitting my head on the wall every time someone gives up because they're not making any money.

When you only define yourself by money, your life is meaningless because money =/= life. When your site isn't making money, you're LEARNING a whole bunc of stuff like:

  • patience
  • what not to do
  • perseverence
  • what to do
  • not to give up
  • a ton of new skills
  • finding new interests

And the list goes on and on. You are developing yourself in ways that money can't buy.

And you know the other thing I've learned? That when you focus on bettering yourself, your website, your health, your mindset, and all these other things irrelevant to money THEN the money comes in after.

When I was hyper focused on money it never came. And I hope you don't misunderstand me because I was this way too.

But through this entire process I've learned my own self worth and how important these things are.

So that is why I'm here sharing it with you. Money doesn't define you and it never will.

Your mind drives you to where you need to be. Stop think you can't and think you CAN.

I've had plenty of days where its been really tough. I've had plenty of times where my daughters come up to me, wiped tears out of my eyes and said 'You can do it mommy' and believe me that's the truth.

So don't let your fears and negative thoughts stop you. You have to take control and stop them.

You can do what you put your mind to no matter how much lint balls you pull out or if you have to pay for your groceries with a big jar of coins (yes, I've done this with groceries, gas and pretty much anything you can think of).

Keep up the good work and measure your success in more terms than just money :)

You are on an inspirational roll, Marlinda1! I needed to hear that at this time. God bless you and your loved ones.

Great post Thanks for sharing.

Money whilst to some may be important in my life is a necessary evil. I prefer to live by my integrity.

Yes earning money on your website is something that is thought about, but I am proud of creating an interesting website although it isn't earning money yet. I think you get a good feeling when it will help people and that it is something that you have worked and created yourself. Also learning new things and connecting up with people on here is great. I wish people wouldn't give up if it isn't earning money in the first 3 months, as it will come, if you keep working at it. But yes you are right it isn't just about money.

Focus just not on the destination but the journey as well
Success is not a 100 meter race
You have great attitude, Marlinda1

I think you're right on. Running an online business is not just about money. I have learned so many new skills that I wouldn't have learned otherwise.

What an inspiring post! Thank you.
