First Video

This was an experience that I had no clue what I was doing but thanks to Kyle and his training I came through it with flying colors (well not really, but very close).

Boot camp is turning out to be fun again now that I have gotten past all the Social Media aspect of using and posting and pinning that took time and persistence but finally got it.

Kyle gives us the places to use for free to make our first videos and I chose Screencast it works very well with Chrome and is really easy to use.

Having never made a video this was an experience but yet so much fun working and playing with the Screencast set up.

Once downloaded and figuring how everything worked I then proceeded into making my first real video but not of myself just screenshots with me talking about what the topic was about.

The first one was only 4 minutes long and when I did the replay I was actually impressed with how well I did even if I did stutter a few times.

Since it did not turn out to terrible I went for video number two and it was longer almost 7 minutes but turned out better until the end when I messed it up by not putting the correct URL.

Learning Experience

With two screenshot videos turning out as well as they did I am fairly proud of myself for finally being brave enough to move on with the Boot camp training now on Level 5.

But I need to post a video to YouTube to complete the lesson I am on right now and feel that I need to do a couple more before an actual upload onto my channel.

Everything is set up and ready at YouTube so all it is waiting for is the right video to be uploaded and then I will be live to the internet world.

Scary is an understatement I never ever thought that I would ever be on YouTube! But to be successful this is a necessary step in the right direction for an online business.

My Goals

With this new training I am going to have to adjust my goals now before the new year arrives because I want to complete Boot camp before January 2019.

This means putting my video out on YouTube so I can keep moving in order to complete this original goal.

Back to the drawing board with my Excel worksheet containing my daily tasks adding a new one to be completed daily practicing for my video until uploaded.

For those of you who have not yet written out a plan of attack please do so I am finding this very helpful in keeping my focus and staying in tune with what I want to accomplish daily.

As for the bigger picture I have not gotten that far and probably will wait and make sure all of December goes well with the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks I have now.

In Closing

I just feel really great that I finally picked Boot camp back up because I was letting things slide that I knew had to be done - do not let this happen to you.

In doing so now I see what I have been missing out on and it is actually fun, just finding more time to do the things I need to get done now is going to be a slight struggle but I do not mind.

For any members who have not went through Boot camp, please do yourself a favor and take the training it is most rewarding and Kyle's training is superb.

Thank you to all who take the time to read my blog posts it is greatly appreciated.

Loving WA more every day have a wonderful one where ever you are in this world,

Susan

Susan,

That is so awesome that you built to your first video for online on YouTube! You inspire me! I am looking forward to the day when I post a video of myself on YouTube. I have done very short Tutorials on YouTube for XL what I was working with a software program called Camtasia. I was teaching people about how to use Microsoft Excel and how to widen columns in Microsoft Excel.

Either way, Susan, congratulations that’s an awesome step forward! Looking forward to other postings you have.

Have a great day!

Faye

Thank you for the support I need it,
Susan

Susan, Go girl go. You rock! I love personal video because one gets to experience and meet the presenter. First instincts mean a lot to me. Oh boy, I am a newbie and Bootcamp seems far away.
Thanks for reminding me, I must do an itemised plan and break my big goal down into little goals. Go post your video on YouTube. Cheers AJ

Jill,
Tomorrow is going to be the telltale - I am going to put me
in the video LOL keep your fingers crossed it turns out I
am posting :)
Thank you so much for the support you show me you are
a great friend,
Susie

Susie, I found with personal videos I’ve made, I tried to make them perfect and professional. In the end, I found my best self could see humour in the cough I had to do, or lost my train of thought and I would say, in the video,”oops just lost my train of thought “ and carried on. Found this took the pressure off me “to get it right “. This approach made me human and worked for me. Maybe Kyle would recommend the professional approach. Guess what I am saying is perhaps don’t get bogged down in being perfect. Be yourself. Yes, let’ be friends. Cheers AJ

Well, there's brave, and there's brave. It's like the lion in the Wizard of Oz. You don't know you have courage until you are forced to confront your fears.

Fantabulous Susan!

Progress, we never know what we can do until we just do it!

Next, Rome!

All the best,

Diane

Susan

Well done Susan, you have inspired me to give videoing a go. Like you were, I am very apprehensive about being in front of a camera. I know I should not be as I taught adults management skills as well as teacher training. I guess I must bite the bullet and just do it.
Thanks for the post
