What is a Scam
We at WA know what scams are and we report on them every day, but did you know that there are ways that these people running the scams can be reported to different agencies?
I was going write a post for one of my websites about scams and how to - but how to what? It could be how to avoid scams but what about how to report scams?
Then I decide to check Google and see what I can come up with when I enter what is a scam and how to. This produced a totally different set of results as the what is a scam and how to avoid it.
Entering the what is a scam and how to avoid it I received a total of 135,000,000 results but the what is a scam and how to turned out a result of 16,850,000,000 results makes you think does it not?
Being Aware
Learning here at WA is teaching me so much and opening my eyes to things in this world I would never have even given much thought to in my daily life.
Just like the results above when searching two phrases and only adding two words to one of them. But the results that came up were never the exact words I entered either.
With the "what is a scam and how to" being 12481% higher than with "avoid it" added that is a massive amount of results.
One of the results is what caught my attention and that was "Can you report a scammer to the police?" and finding that not only can you or do you report it to them but also the state consumer protection office. And with certain scams to the federal enforcement agencies.
Understandably I have led a sheltered life in the area of scams but finding this information was astonishing to me. I did not know that there was a place to report internet websites for being scams or fraudulent at the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
I am sure many of you at WA know all these things but just in case for new people I would like to bring this information to their attention.
Information Highway
When the internet came into being it was know as the information highway but today there is so much information out there people need to be protected from scammers and others who are out to do harm to everyone they can.
Going through the training and when I first started to do reviews of other companies that are really scamming people I was not to sure of myself, but after finding this information it makes me realize that helping people avoid these pit falls is important now.
Helping people use the information highway for good and not evil can be a very rewarding thing if you know what to look for in spotting these scams and rip off artists.
We here at WA are being taught exactly how to do this and promoting WA can keep people from falling victims to these evil people that put these half-truths together and then sell them to innocent people.
In Closing
This is probably more of a slight rant against the scammers and guru rip off artists out there but knowing that there is a place that some of these people can be taken away from doing the evil things they do makes me feel somewhat better to expose them for who they are.
Those of you that do the reviews on these companies and scams please keep up the good work that you are doing by providing everyone and anyone you can with the correct information on how to really make money online. It is no magic button that is a fact.

Hi Susan,
I didn't know there was someone to report a scammer too. I had a very vague idea of someone out there that might do something, but who?
One of the problems is that so many of these crooks are operating out of unfriendly countries. In that case, only a nuclear device would stop that transgression. That, of course, is not the answer for foreign scammers.
Just to be aware and alert is the about the only defense against that type.

Because I am wondering that myself. It is information that we need just in case we run across a scam that we can report it.
