What a Difference a Few Months Will Make

Growing In WA

Today I wanted to take a website that I created when I first started here at WA which was in July 2018, - the website began on July 8, 2018, with the first page of content.

Purchasing a dot com for the website after all these months was a necessity because it was not going anyplace under the siterubix sub domain.

My other websites are passing it by and I thought now this isn't fair you were one of the originals and you really are not in that bad of shape time to get you your own domain.

Well, when I started going back over all the posts to the website to say that I have come a long way in the five months that I have been here is an understatement.

Reading each and every post I needed to rewrite almost all of them. This of course took me all day. The theme I am happy with but the way I had things set up not so good.

Learning over these past months has given me the experience to change many things about this website making it new and improved.

Funny but I actually trashed two of the posts I had on there they were that bad. Poorly written is not even the beginning of what I was finding.

In doing this I did find that two of the posts had not been indexed by Google and checking the Meta Description and keywords I had used is probably why.

Thanks to attending Jay's Live Training on Friday night I found that I was missing internal links as well as external links in many of the posts - fixed all these.

I am sure many of you attended Jay's training but the things that I was forgetting to do on my websites were from the short period of time right after I finished the OEC training.

This may have been timed saved had I only went a little slower when I was creating the content the first time around with a check list and included it in the beginning.

Continual Learning Experience

What I am really learning by all of this is that every day with WA is going to be bringing us something new to learn and keep track of making our websites better and better.

To succeed in the online world without a place like WA would be literally impossible for the normal person that wants to become successful in an online business.

Sure I could have just transferred the website over to the new dot com as it was but then would it have ranked as high as it can now with all the repairs?

Because of what I did today and the time invested I think that my website has turned out better and due to more experience that I have now will rank higher in a shorter period of time.

Now to take all this new-found knowledge and apply it to all the other websites I have created is going to take me time I realize but think that in the end it will be the best use of my time over creating more content the incorrect way.

Refreshing all the websites I have right now will probably take me a couple of weeks then back to the drawing board to get them back up to 100% with Site Health will be next.

Help from Members

I would like to take this time to thank the many members who have helped me along the way so far with all the small successes I have accomplished so far.

Without you I would not be where I am today with the knowledge and experience to help the people who have not been here as long as I have.

Premium Members who have been here for many years contribute so much to this community and teaching new techniques or new ways for us to become better with business ideas.

Technology changes every day and we need to keep up with the moving forward technology being isolated from it will only cause people to fail.

Carson and Kyle make sure that this platform is set up for those who want to succeed will with all the tools and help possible all under one single roof.

Who can ask for anything more?

In Closing

My blog post today was to remind those members who came here completely new to the online world to go back over your original posts and check to see if maybe you can improve them - in writing style that you now have - or SEO!

I know we all are short on time in some cases but making our business the best it can be with updates and changes will only help make us more successful.

Hope you all find your website in great condition - and not like mine leaving things go for way to long - putting it on the to do list checking things off as should be!

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post.

Wishing you all wonderful success in all that you do,

Susan

Well done Susan!
I’ve found the same thing.
Since I designed a logo, and was also missing internal links (and some external in the first few posts) I’ve been updating my earlier posts as well.
I agree that it’s time well spent, especially since I only have one site... LOL!
Thanks for sharing your great approach.
Blessings to you!
KyleAnn

KyleAnn,
I just found it so amazing the improvement in the five
short months of what I have learned - going back over
all my websites now I know it is time-consuming but
well worth it all fixing all the things I have learned over
the past five months is actually very rewarding knowing
how far I have come to until just now :)
Thank you for being so supportive!
Susan

A very good article and something that in my short time here I have already experienced.
For some reason (I guess old habits die hard) I saved my first 2 posts as soon as I had written them. As I have progressed through the WA training I have regularly done my site and post maintenance and so all of my pages have, and are still constantly improved. However I have not touched the original stored pages.
It was only this morning, just before I came across your post, that curiosity got the better of me and I popped back into the original pages, and the difference (even though my impression was that i had just been tinkering here and there) was astounding.
Which all goes to prove your point that we are ALL learning ALL the time.

Adrian,
Aaaww thank you that is so sweet, I just thought before I moved
the site to its new home I wanted it to look and read very well.
Just the difference was so amazing.
Thank you for being so supportive,
Susan

I only upgraded to premium one week ago today and because of what I have learned since then my blog, which is still less than a month old, has a much more professional look about it and is far superior to anything I’ve tried before. It’s just small changes but effective changes. We live and learn!
Wishing you more success in the future,
Steve.

Steve,
I know never even thought about how much I have advanced
in this short time, what a difference. I am so glad you have
joined to stay this place is amazing.
Thank you for supporting me,
Susan

Your post is teaming with wisdom, the kind you could only have amassed in such a short time at WA. You have emerged with this golden vision that is provided through expert training, thoughtfully delivered in easy to understand segments that bring ranking results, hooray WA.

A wonderful revelation,
Ruben

Ruben,
Thank you that is so very kind of you! It was just a thought
to share with people who might not think to go back and
look after a month or so and see how far we come in such
a short time.
Thank you for showing the support you do here,
Susan

Great post. Congratulations and continued success.

Michael,
As always, my friend, you are too kind,
Thank you,
Susan

Great post. Question though...by going back through and trashing some old posts, did you then receive any 404 errors? I did some site "remodeling" several months ago and I received 404 errors because of it so I just wondered.

Wishing you all the best, my dear.

Warm Regards,
Yvette

Yvette,
I will not know that until I transfer the website today to its
new home on the dot com - but I will let you know.
I was just amazed at how much my writing and design has
advanced - more professional!
Thank you and hope all is going well for you my friend :)
Susie

Susie, thanks. Yes, things are coming along well for me and I am getting back to my "old" self. With all the relocations, I am feeling better now and getting back into the swing of things. Thank goodness.

Yes, please let me know how it all turns out for you on your end. I know your site is going to look amazing ! I can't wait to see it.

Have an awesome day :)

Great advice Susan. True like you said may take some time, but could make a big difference.

Mickey,
Not sure but was hoping others would revisit theirs just in case
never know might up the ranking :)
Thanks for stopping I appreciate you so much,
Susan

Ms. Vicki,
It sure is at #5 on the first page getting traffic -
that is the one I did get my first commission from
$1.60 from Amazon - not complaining more to
come :)
Thank you so much - and I am going to do them
all just for myself and knowing that I am getting
better at this :)

Susan

Susie

Thank you Susan! As always, very informative and helpful.
Dina:)

Thank you, Dina
Always wonderful and love having you read my posts,
Susan

Sounds like we both started here at about the same time!

Like you I discover with every post I write something new - something that I wish I had included when I was writing those older posts.

Unlike you I haven't had the courage to go back and re-read everything from the beginning - right now it would be too painful! :-)

However, you make a very good point - going back and making changes and corrections to those older posts is exactly what I need to do.
Reading what you have done encourages me to do the same!

Sounds like the makings of good New Year's Resolution?!?

Wishing you all the best,
Susan

Susan,
I only started a few weeks before you - it was very painful
to see how terrible I was - but it was enlightening at the
same time to see how much I have grown :)
Thank you for reading and wish you all the best.
Susan
