How Many Words

Question for WA members on average how many words do you write in a month? Is there a specific number of words we should be writing and adding to our website?

Average posts are to be around 1000 words is what we have been taught and where I try to keep all my posts some are more some are less but I try not to use fillers.

I prefer to read things which come straight to the point and give me the information I am looking for and this is what I have been trying to accomplish with my writing.

The problem with can be two fold because sometimes I have much more to say about a topic than others due to my excitement about the topic.

Other times getting right to the point can make the post short and then finding more to say in order to get the word count up can be difficult.

Word Count for WA

118 Articles Published 109,748 Your all-time words written

And more than 99% of WA Members this month

I have started to use Site Content to write my pages and posts and these stats appear at the top of the page, my question is how is this calculated?

When I started to use Site Content I did have a few posts written from when I first started are the word counts for those included or does the system only include posts written in the past 30 days?

The reason I started to use the Site Content for writing and publishing pages and posts was to keep track of my articles for publication and it does have spell check making it faster for proofreading my posts.

I know many people use just WordPress for writing content either as pages or posts but I have found this much more helpful to write posts ahead of time keeping them for publication later.

Curiosity

My curiosity always gets the best of me and I usually try to find answers on my own this enables me to remember how to fix the problems that I am having.

But when all else fails then I turn to the community or more experienced members for the answers that is what makes this platform great.

I know that I am still very new to this platform and keep learning new things daily I work on my websites and helping people every day paying forward the knowledge I have gained.

I consider myself to be a humble person not putting up my blog posts to brag, or show up how well I am doing, and frankly I do not feel I am doing that well.

These questions I could have asked in the community or on Live Chat but I wanted to add the balance of the content within this blog post.

In Closing

As a new person in this platform even after 4 months I feel I still have so much to learn and helping people joining after I have makes me feel blessed in being here.

Any member having the knowledge to answer my questions within this post would be so greatly appreciated and possibly others might want the information as well :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post we all have so many things to do and our time is limited.

Have a wonderful day or night where ever in the world you are,

Susan

I don't know the exact amount of words it should be any particular post, page or blog. I'm sure somebody does if anyone would know would be kyle

Lenny,
Thank you for reading and replying the suggested amount of
words is 1000 but I do not always make that some are over
and some are under but I was looking more for an answer
to how many words should we be doing per month :)

I don't know if their is an exact number. I do know when people write really long posts I stop reading and go on unless it's a subject that I'm very interested in, now that's just me

Great post, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this valuable information! Keep it short, sweet and to the point!

Michael,
Thank you for reading and replying much appreciated :)

I try to keep it sort so the reader does not get boring

Sherman,
Thank you for reading and responding appreciate this :)

Thank your for sharing Susan.

Thank you, Michael, for reading and replying :)

I like your writing Susan. I agree that adding too much 'fluff' to keep your posts around 1000 words can take away from the point of the content. I am brand new at WA too and mostly use site content as well. I use the 'Forest Gump' style of learning... By that I meen that I don't over think the training and do exactly as suggested in the classrooms. As I learn, grow and understand more I'll incorporate more of my own thinking but for now, I try to stick to around 1000 words with as little 'fluff' as possible.

Robb,
Thank you for reading and replying, and yes fluff just gets in
the way :)
Besides I never want to bore away a potential customer LOL

Hi Susan,

Wonderful post and a lot of us here in WA can relate with.
How many posts to publish monthly they say 2 a week. So in essence 8 post per month.

But if you want traction I would post every other day, and I would let your followers know this as well. They expect your articles and look forward to the information given.

But at times life gets in the way and you can't post anything.

Good luck finding your happy medium.

Debbie

Thank you, Debbie, I post very frequently but I was just
wondering if I am posting enough or not enough at times :)

Hi Susan
I always write until I finish writing :)
Some post are 745, 865, 1758, 2324, and all get indexed quickly
I think low hanging fruit keywords is a real key to indexing :)
Go well
Vicki

Thank you, Ms. Vicki, I only have a couple posts that are
not indexed yet but they are new so have to give them
at least a couple of days, I recheck weekly and if I see
one that has not been indexed I have been checking that
I have the keywords and meta tags correctly done :)

Awesome - you are rocking this online biz stuff Susan :)))

I had to go check my posts...I have something over 52,000 words and have put up 40 posts. I'm impressed with your figures! I, too, have been in WA for just over four months, yet you have over twice the number of posts as I. How did you do it?

Fran,
I spend 12 to 18 hours a day on WA with nothing much else
to do I write posts or help within the community :)
When all my websites are at 100% publishing then I will
write posts and keep them for if my Site Health falls below
the 100% :)

Hi Susan I am also a newish member, I started in April of 2018 but I have always try to do at least 1,000 words per post I try to write like I am talking to some one and I find I can usually do 1,000 words or more I have seen it said that Google seems to like the post to have in at least 1,000.

Thank you for reading and responding :)

so well said, Susan.

Thank you, Sandra :)

this is also a wonderful reminder for those of us who have been here a few months longer than you. I have been here six months. And I know I do not write enough
Sandy
