Finding High Paying Affiliate Programs

Affiliate Marketing

WA Premium Members we are here to make money if I am not mistaken, and earning commissions is the way we are going to do that right?

We have many programs to chose from when looking for affiliates to promote for but are taught that they need to fit into our niche and we need to select wisely.

After being here for the past months I am finding that promoting products within my niche are not going to earn much in the way of commissions due to Amazon and others offer a small percentage on these products.

I mean to promote a few of the items which are already on my websites with the commission rate being only 6% to 10% at the most on an item that costs $12.99 what am I earning?

That is right only $.78 to $1.30 per item, that is going to take many items for me to make the type of money required for the hours of work that I am putting in on my website!

Looking for the higher paying items is good but even still if you are selling items in the $200.00 range at a 10% commission that is still only $20.00 per sale.

What am I getting at? I have been looking and trying to find products that are offering a flat rate per sale of over $20.00 starting out at around the $36.00 range up to $50.00 or more.

But if you look hard enough you can find that some of these programs will pay you per click if someone clicks on the ad in your website as well not much but hey a click is worth $.06 or more depending on the product.

Why Am I Sharing This?

As a Premium Member here at WA it has been what we find we share with others on the platform and pay it forward with our knowledge in blog post or training to help each other.

When I read a blog post by another member yesterday concerning all the training we get here helps us to diversify what we do and where we can earn besides just with our websites it made me think that if I can find affiliate programs which are paying more others can too.

This is time-consuming finding the right affiliate program to fit your niche but if I am going to take hours to build a business and website then it needs to be profitable in the end.

Choosing an affiliate program that is going to pay a guaranteed amount over a percentage just makes more sense to me. The click on the ad for the site is just a tiny bonus from what I see.

Another thing I have been seeing is using any banner advertising where the banner width is over the width of your page is considered not to be mobile friendly so you might want to cut back on the size banners you are using.

Google is going to start to index mobile friendly first sooner than later with content and if your banners are outside the margins this is going to affect how your content is going to get indexed.

Yes, not only have I been working hard on creating content with being absent visually here inside WA but I have been doing so much research on promoting, ranking, indexing, etc.

Keyword Research

I am seeing many questions on this lately again and I did read another member's blog post about the importance of keywords with indexing, ranking, and SEO value.

Members if you are smart you will subscribe to a publication like I did through my email called "Search Engine Land" if you do not already get this.

What I am finding valuable with this is how Google and the search engines algorithms are being changed which is something we all need to be aware of constantly to keep up with how things are going to be ranked and change what we are doing with content.

Search Engine Land is a newsletter that comes out with all posts relating to anything to do with Google news and I have been reading it for the past week or so and learning more about SEO.

Another great tip to find about keywords is always check your keyword in Google with quotation marks to get the real amount of websites that are ranked for the keyword!

This saves time so you can change up your keyword sometimes instead of using the "best of" ranking is going to be higher with the "top recommended".

Two words changed will make you or break you with rankings so do your homework and find the best keywords out there.

The take the time to research for affiliates these can also make you or break you depending on what type of commissions you are going to be making.

Show Me The Money

I am not into writing any of my posts for the money - really think about it this way if I were I sure would not have picked two of the highest competitive niches there are.

But with the right affiliate programs to promote it can make a difference between earning pennies and making a passive income that is substantial for the rest of my life.

Many come here only for the money and find that they must work hard and wait patiently until the website has time to mature and be recognized by the search engines.

Putting in months of work day after day seeing no results is difficult and only the most determined and strong willed are going to survive.

Some WA member's have been paying for Premium Membership for years knowing that eventually they will get around to being serious about running the online business.

Others due to health circumstances have had to put it on the back burner to take care of themselves or a loved one but continued to pay the premium.

Why? Because they know that this community is worth its weight in gold you are not going to find a better more competent place to build an online business that is going to make you a passive income like WA will.

In Closing

For those member's who are taking the time to read my blog post today I do hope you are taking away some valuable information to help you.

We all need to share what we find to help each other succeed with business here we are not in competition with each other but with the others that are not part of our world here at WA.

Reaching out and sharing what we know is the best thing we can do for each other that is what Kyle and Carson set out to do when they started WA and as member's we need to continue to do the same.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the member's who are always sharing their knowledge with me and the rest of the WA community it is needed and appreciated.

Just hoping the small things I shared here today will help at least one other member in our community.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog today,

Wishing you all the best and to a prosperous year this year,

Susan

Hello Susan,

Thank you for your blog post, it's very important to find the right affiliate programs, however, I have found that these small amounts can add up. One particular niche that I am in the payouts are probably between 10p and £100, but over a month this can mount up to an acceptable amount.

Another niche I am in has larger payouts, but overall at the end of the month the two sites probably make similar money, so you could say it's swings and roundabouts, although I hear totally what you are saying, there is a balance!

Enjoy your day.

Roy

Roy,

Thank you, and yes this is true I have Amazon to thank
for my research and found affiliates that are paying a higher
commission on products that I was promoting thru them when
they canceled me due to not getting the 3 sales.

I will be happy make 10 to 15% on the same products that
Amazon only pays 3 to 6% on.

So my research was worth my time although I could have
reapplied to Amazon I think I will keep the ones I found.

Thanks,
Susan

Hello Susan, thank you for taking the time to reply to me.

Do you know I don't think I have ever earned a commission through Amazon, I know that Amazon works for many people, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I still have a monthly report come through each month even though I don't use my Amazon associates account. I guess I've been a member of the Amazon affiliate program for 11 years, as far as I know, I haven't made a single sale and yet my account is still live! Maybe they have this policy for newer accounts, possibly?

Enjoy your day Susan.

Roy

Thank you for reading - hope it was of help.

Thank you Susan. My son is going to invest in Amazon fba for me. Not looking forward to it really, it’s a lot of mental work for someone my age and in my health, and it’s going to take away my attention from my health blog here on WA, but that’s what he wants me to do so. Sheesh, haven’t tried this in over 20 years since my stint on ebay. At least it is a little more scientific now. If your interested in that kind of thing Susan check out Jungle Scout on You Tube. Thanks for the info, but as thin as I’m spreading myself these days looks like it will be awhile before I can use any of it.

Teri,
Thank you - I will check this out, I was forced into looking
for other affiliate programs thanks to Amazon - did not
get my 3 sales - in comparison I make better commissions
with the new affiliates I found I will take 10 to 15% over the
3 to 6% Amazon was paying.

Please take care of yourself and do not overdo you do too
much now my friend,
Susie

Thank You for this Great post Susan:)
Great information and we must use our time to find the right affiliate programs that will pay in our niche, otherwise we are "spinning our wheels."

Kaju

Kaju,
Thank you but all the thanks needs to go to Amazon
they canceled me due to not making the 3 sales in
doing so forced me to find better affiliates with better
commissions ::))

Made my day even though it took time to find them.
Susie

This is going into my bookmarked favorites for further review this week.

I signed up when I had a two week break at Christmas time. I did the most work during those two weeks. I don't like my 9 to 5 and find that when I get home now I am tired from working at a computer all day in a stressful job. I am not doing as much as I would like to do. Age, and stress and being tired are really beating me up. I get what you're saying.

Carve out a half hour everyday. Work on the most important thing every day. You will make progress.

Earl,
This is really easy work but can be stressful if you are putting
the stress on yourself to do it. Hating your job is not helping
you - come home have a nice dinner and relax then try to sit
down and shake off the feelings of pressure because that is
not what WA is for!

This is for FUN is how you need to look at it write all the things
down that you would like to accomplish to motivate you to do
what needs to get done.

If you take all the proper steps you can do this believe me it is
not exactly easy but it can be done ::))

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today and best
wishes moving forward just keep in mind you started this to
get away from that job you hate ::))

Susie

Great post Susan and very true. Thank you. :)
