Tanzania woman disguises as male to work in a gold mine.
She did not want to be side lined any more so she decided to take charge of her life. With a father who treated her "less than " in a polygamous household of thirty eight siblings, frustration set in.
She got married but here again she was poorly treated and the marriage failed. Eventually she left the area and ended up in a mining community. Uneducated she saw a novel way of getting by.
Realizing that money could be made working in the gold mine she took on that task first by disguising as a male. According to Esther, she tried to do everything as a male. She was very successful, working for ten years.
However, this lifestyle came to a haul when she was accused of rape.
She said in an interview that she told the officer that she did not want to be examined by a male but by a female officer. It was at this time that her true identity was revealed.
You can imagine how the men were shocked. Many failed to believed because she was the leader for many.
This did not dampen her spirit and her business prowess. She built houses for her parents and herself. Then she set up her own gold mine. Sensitive to the plight women she made another gold mine where about forty women were employed.
She even got married again and became a motivator for many women. Her two children were given an education so that according to her they can make wise choices because she did not want them to go through her kind of ordeal.
This is a true story that I heard this evening and I was inspired to share it with you at Wealthy Affiliate. Like Esther (not her real name) . we all can do great things
