I had the same problem when I changed my theme to GeneratePress. This was caused by inserting an image at the beginning of each post and then adding the Featured Image.
Now, I just add the Featured Image.
I have removed the image at the beginning of each post with the result being no more double images.
It's theme ralated. My theme didn't display a featured image, another theme displayed it twice, I recently changed the theme to Weaver Xtreme, and I can change simply everything I want, with, and without, featured images on the archive and on the category posts, awesome experience.
Open a test website with your theme and see what you can do, when anything goes wrong, you can delete it and start over again, you can also check out other themes
My theme does that, too. I used to put a picture in the left-hand corner of my post. However, it looked strange since the featured image appeared up there, too. So I just let that featured image be the start of the story, and actually now I kinda like it.
Have you looked in the "customize" section? That's the one place where you might be able to change it.
I checked both my websites, and the "customize" feature is listed under "appearance." Hope that helps.
Look for ways to change your first page; perhaps that will give you something you can use. It may just be your theme.
The only thing that I can suggest is to delete your featured image and simply add the image in the content where you want it.
Someone else may have a better solution where you can keep your featured image and get the look you want!
Janelle
I have done that, but I have a blog roll, and I like the look better with a featured image showing.
Have you tried Simple Image Sizes plugin? Once you have activated the plugin, navigate to Settings -> Media. Among all the additional image sizes, you should find the one that’s dedicated to the featured image and adjust the sizes...hope that helps
It's the theme that determines how your featured images are shown. If you can't customize the theme the way you want, then try a different theme. I recommend Weaver Xtreme.
I might have to change the theme. This is the 2nd theme I have chosen, and both have the problem. I can't find anywhere I can customize it.

Marla,
Valerie and others have given you the answer. Some themes automatically add a pic in the left hand corner. Yours seem to be one of those.
You can change the theme or just do not insert any featured image.

I have written a comment for site comments, it is fairly long and completely written on my own without looking at any other comments. It tells me my comment isn't unique. I h
It's a temporary bug. When I noticed a similar thing in Site Comments, I usually take a break to come back later. By the time my break is finished, bug is fixed.
By the way, my version of "break" sometimes takes a few hours to a few days. :)
Yup, I posted three comments - all of them are deemed not unique. Hopefully Kyle and the team can fix this soon.
I also encountered similar problem.
Usually I just need to resubmit once to pass this 'bug', but I was eventually forced to skip one website because my the system told me that my comment isn't unique, no matter how many times I revised the comment.
I didn't copy it from other source and type it directly in the comment box. The problem happened again with the next website. I hope this is just a temporary bug :(
Sincerely,
Ferdinand
I had the same issue, so I just kept changing the comment and it eventually went through. Frustrating though.
So I must have tried about 15 times to submit, and it finally went through. I don't know why it wouldn't to begin with.
Yes it usually happens. I encountered similar problem in the past that made me annoyed and stop making comments anymore, waste of time and effort. This should be fixed, otherwise this will become a negative issue on WA.
I am a bit frustrated. I spent the time reading the article, coming up with a long comment and it won't work. I keep trying to change it up a bit for it to work, and nothing will let it go through.

I have signed up with Amazon International for both Canada and the UK and I have gone to Amazon and "One Linked" the accounts. My questions I have are will I need 3 qualifying
I was wondering this as well. I have a Canada account and have been thinking of adding other countries where I’m getting traffic.
Thanks Trish for posting the answer. This has helped me too.
Thanks for "Like" ing my comment, else I would not have seen your "thank you".
It is always best to always click "Reply" so those members you want to see what you have said will know.
Yes Maria,
Amazon affiliates need to qualify for EACH country's account in order to maintain that country's affiliate account.
I just lost my own country's Amazon account and Italy's due to no clicks... ooooh well.

I set up business accounts on FaceBook, Pinterest and Twitter with my first niche website, so they are all called the same name as my website. I have now started a 2nd website
I've been doing a LOT of research on all of this lately as I am just venturing into social media myself. Trish gave some good info below. Definitely separate pages on FB. Pinterest seems to be very controversial as whether to keep boards related to one niche or varied, but I like the varied method. Can't comment on Twitter or Instagram though as I've never used them :-/
Great question. I'm following this to see what answers you get. Thanks for asking this Marla.
Tamara
Hey Maria,
Some members may recommend you have different Twitter accounts for each niche. However, I have only one Twitter account and I share a variety of topics so I do not feel the need to have more.
When using Instagram, you may find it easier to have one account for EACH niche in order to stay on topic.
Facebook makes it extremely easy, as you can have a different fan page for each niche, and have full access to those pages through your personal FB account.
YouTube... this too would depend on how you view what you are doing. This social media account I only have one... but I must confess, I have been ignoring it lately and need to get back at it.
Hope you find this helpful.
Thanks Triblu, do you have any recommendation for Pinterest? I have tried to find adding another account with no luck. Would you just use another board? I don't really want to do that, since the 2 niches are so different from one another, and the followers I have on Pinterest are there because of that niche.
Ooh wow Maria, I did miss mentioning Pinterest, didn't I.
I only have one account there too, as we can have several different boards.
So, like my Twitter account, I have a variety of boards on my Pinterest account.
If you want a second Pinterest account then you will need to use a different email address for each account.
Personally, I have not been focusing on my social media accounts much lately, as I am far too busy with my local business + creating content for my own websites + helping others here.
Thus, keeping my social media accounts to a minimum works best for me.
Not only that but I've learned recently that now we need to treat our social media accounts like a separate website and add unique content there too in order for Facebook to share our posts, else we are wasting our time.
Thank you. I did do some more research and found that I needed a separate email to get it set up. I had to log out of my original account and than create a new one with a different email address.
I am going to have to put it on the back burner for today, since it was more steps than I was ready for, and thought getting a new post was time better spent right now.
Thank you!
Always helpful Trish. Thanks for this input. Very useful for where I am in the training. Have a great weekend in the Great White North!

Thanks YOU Mark, for letting me know this helped you too. Still damp and chilly here in the Great White North, but the season is heading in the right direction... summer is next... YIPEEEEE!
