Need Some Critique On Website

Last Update: November 23, 2014

I think this is where I do this? The training said to get some feed back so here I am. I look forward to the direction I need to go in with this. There are no affiliate links in this site as I was told first to just get some traffic by working on the keywords that are low hanging :-)

Then just keep adding content. I'm not sure how that works with the keyword tool but I tried. Gotta go do the day gig thing when I'm done I will check back and see what your responses where. Thanks so much for your help. Markus: http://trebleclefreviews.siterubix.com

You're off to a good start Mark, but as Jim already said, you need to think about your audience here. You're also trying to chase the money, not the quality content.

Provide that quality content and the sales will come. Don't try to sell the most expensive guitars right away. Talk about subjects in this area since you're the expert. These can fuel your site's content.

Hey Vitaliy thanks for your feed back. And I'm thankful for your honest answer as I just wanna be successful. Okay I'm taking the links out.
But I take it, thats how it should be when traffic does come?
Will be putting up content on the blog, trying on a daily bases.

Vitaliy I thought I niched this down, "Custom guitar builders" get way far less searches than guitars or acoustic guitars. Unless you think it wise to target a much bigger market, I would rather talk to the collector, artisan, guitar enthusiast but at the same time I thought I would bridge that gap in my review page(blog) and bring it to the more common musicians needs if I could. This page alone is going to be trying for me but I will get it, bottom line I want to review great teachers like Justin at Justin Guitar then recommend him to my audience. Please let me know if this is good or would you approach it differently.

Vitaliy is there a good lesson on the WA Keyword Tool as I'm not sure how to read it? Look forward to your reply.

You can do all of this Mark, but for now stick to writing content regarding your specific niche, then expand outward, but THROUGH your existing site. Where you decide to take it in the future whether it be recommending specific guitars or private lessons is up to you. You can end up doing both, but this will all clear up as you gain more experience.

For now, add that content. What you wrote earlier with that guitar was a good review. Keep that style going, but also be controversial at times. Review things you don't exactly like, but link to things you do, This earns you more trust.

Don't think about the money. Think about helping your niche solve their problems and the money will come. Trust me.

Thank you my good man! Those tips I never thought of " being controversial at times, reviewing things I don't really like then link to what I do like. Great ideas Vitaliy. I'll be writing some better content and putting it up as well.
You have a good turkey day my friend please be safe. Markus

it's not just about being controversial. If you promote and tell people to buy everything, you're going to look like a shameless promoter. Be honest, tell people what works, what doesn't.

yep I understood that. I don't want to be a shameless promoter either as it seems we have enough of those around. Hey while I got you here.
The WA Keyword tool is giving me grief. When I'm digging down with the keywords are they considered good if upon reviewing the competition results I see one gets: Page 3 of 276 results (0.78 seconds) then one keyword will get : Page 2 of 163 results (0.44 seconds) then this keyword gets this result : 2 results (0.25 seconds)

Would this be the better keyword that gets 2 results ? It still gets some searches and a little traffic. Is this the low hanging keywords I'm looking for? Sorry that was so long, just didn't know how to word it right. Thx Markus

You're looking for any keyword which is relevant to your niche. If it has at least 50 search or more a month, it's good. As for the competition number, you're clicking on the results tab and it will go to the last page. In your case, the numbers 276, 163 were good. As long as you're under the 300 page limit, you're be fine with this.

Hey Markus, I'm a guitar player myself and have to admit that I am a bit confused as to what message you are trying to portray. Sure you're trying to sell a guitar, for just under $10,000. I'm not saying the guitar is not worth it. But you have to start thinking about the average person visiting your website. What kind of budgets do they have? You may not know the answer to that initially but it certainly worth finding out as much as you can about.

I think a much better approach in this niche is to offer some great (and I mean seriously great) content about guitar playing. Just take a look at JustinGuitar.com or look him up on YouTube (or both). The guy offers insane value for nothing. He gets his cash by building trust with his audience. People that want to take their guitar playing to the next level can buy his course or charts, or whatever.

He's built a very successful brand for himself. I have used his trainings to work through some tricky guitar pieces. He's even taught me the correct way to play McCartney's Blackbird.

This is what needs to be done not just in the guitar playing world but in every niche. Reach out. Add Value. Answer Questions and show them you are there for them.

Best Regards,
Jim

Hi Jim, Hey thanks so much for your input on this. As you can tell I'm a newbie at this. I will be reworking the site and putting in some quality content. I can't agree with you more on Justin he's a top notch teacher. Jim If I could after this has been reworked may I pass back to you as I do value your opinion and only want to be successful at this. Thx Markus
