In my opinion

We all make choices throughout life, some are big, and some are small. We are mapping out everything by the second, day, month, and for some of us, even years.

If anything, I would imagine we want a life well-lived, a life to be cherished and valued, and where do we put our attention in, or focus a lot of our precious time on, the things that don't really matter, have no bearing on our lives and or have very little importance to be even considered in the first place, so this brings me to the heart of my topic... Transitioning from a Scuba Diver to a Surfer... with regards to overthinking...

Scuba Diver Mentality

Any thoughts are precious like the coral reef, delicate to the touch and fragile in nature, as are the state of your thoughts which have to be observed and considered in the finest detail, even though these, in fact, could be immaterial or have no benefit in following that pattern of thought.

It also may have negative connotations to the way you feel, so let me ask you, is it really going to help following the thought any deeper? If your only going to get inconclusive results that do not benefit you by any stretch of the imagination.

If you consider too much at one point, the overload of these thoughts will be too overwhelming, and you will need to come up for air but not too fast. Otherwise, you will get the bends, and you don't want that.

Don't put too much consideration on the unknown fish that you can see in the murky depths because you're not exactly sure if that even exists in the first place. Pay attention instead to all the bright fishes available and present to you.

I suggest a pause without reflection to get the most from the pressure your feeling, slowly allowing the release of the thought and putting your attention back to the present moment to find the stability that you need to swim in the sea of challenges and eventually allowing yourself to gravitate from the all too consuming treacherous thought water.

Surfer Extraidionare

Suf's up, the sun is shining, and you're ready for the day ahead. Thoughts are buzzing and congealing but there not pulling you down; they are lifting you onto your well-managed board of action and confidence; as you sit at the end of your surfboard basking in the sun, you start to map out a clear path to navigate through the water, seeing the beach as your target zone and knowing the most constructive way to get there.

The positivity of allowing yourself to be in this moment is making everything seem all the more tangible because your focus is exactly where it should be, and that is right now.

If you concentrate on the here and now, the result of you getting to the beach is a foregone conclusion as you have already put the time in on yourself by investing in yourself; the other surfers that surround you may have better or worse surfboards, but that's neither here nor there, as you are not them as they are not you, and that will never change.

So turn the jealous eye away, and if you really need to look, be motivated only in making your surfboard a unique surfboard to you, which will attract others to making their surfboard as best as possible.

Balancing The Board

The wave is almost approaching with a vibrant restoring energy that is making your heart race, and the excitement gives you a tremendous feeling that this wave is the one that will assist you in progressing forward without being overwhelmed or ripped from your board. Still, you know yourself. You will get back on and have another go. It's a must, an absolute certainty because you're at home in the water, this is where you restore the balance, you already know how to swim, but you're not thinking, you have done enough of that, you have prepared yourself for the wave, and here you go..............
