There appears to be many issues, so it is not easy to answer. Perhaps you might like to see this text and compare with what you are doing. Let me know if I can help. But do step by step, solve one issue at a time and you will make the progress.

I intend to create several sites with different subjects but would like them to be on one domain. Do sub-domains affect SEO or indexing?
This isn't always the best idea, I always recommend one domain per niche. Sub domains can definitely get indexed and they are treated like new websites, but I would not recommend getting into a habit of doing this going forward.
As a rule of thumb, one domain per niche.
Is putting sites on sub-domains ok?

I created a website on siterubix.com (http://ledsforrvsandcamping.siterubix.com) and wanted it to be on my own domain name. I created my domain (markensales.com) through Namecheap
Your domain name is http://markensales.com Your site title can be changed to Led's for rvs and camping? Or whatever you want it to read. Your domain name will be whatever name you purchased.
You would just go into your site manager and click on appearance on the side bar, then click on customize and add your site title name.
Thanks JeffreyS for the quick reply. The problem is that when I tried to swap my webpage from siterubix.com to my new domain the site took on the domain name. Now on my dashboard I have two sites one called markensales.com (this is EXACTLY what I originally created) and the other one (now with a different theme) called ledsforrvsandcamping.siterubix.com which was the original name when I built it. I was under the impression my site on the new domain would be called ledsforrvsandcamping.markensales.com. Did I go wrong somewhere or have I misunderstood the process?
After you transfer your siterubix files to your new domain name, you can delete the site rubix website.
Then that's what you transferred your siterubix domain to. It will show two websites until you delete siterubix website
This whole thing looked a lot simpler in the video. Am I wrong to assume that my website would be called the same name in the new domain? ledsforrvsandcamping.siterubix.com has moved domain. The new domain is markensales.com so why did the site not become ledsforrvsandcamping.markensales.com
The only way your site would stay the same name is to purchase the domain name ledsforrvsandcamping.com
OK then I did misunderstand the process. I will go back to the video and take another look. Many thanks for your time.
Just thought I would let you know that I fixed the problem that I thought I had. In the website manager I created a SUBdomain of ledsforrvsandcamping.markensales.com and moved the website at markensales.com into it. My intention is to create several websites for many different types of products and have them all under the markensales.com domain. In the long run I knew what I wanted to achieve but I didn't actually know what I wanted. Get that???
