Inspiring quote - Creating Beliefs to Help You Take Action
Often we want to behave a certain way, and yet we don't have the beliefs to support our behavior, so it doesn't happen.
We don't have the beliefs because we haven't yet created them with our thoughts.
A belief is nothing more than a thought we think over and over.
Just as a pathway in the woods is only created if we walk over the same ground again and again, so we have to repeatedly think the thoughts required to establish our beliefs.
A great way to do this is through the practice of affirming your desired thoughts out loud, often. Many people call these 'affirmations'. I just like to think if it as 'self talk'.
These don't need to be elaborate or long sentences, in fact short punchy ones work best like these:
"I can do this."
"I am doing this."
"I'm getting better at this every day."
"My focus is getting better all the time."
Writing these daily in a journal also works well as does writing them on post-it notes and putting them up around your computer, work space and home where you can see them often.
Once we have created the beliefs required to help us take action, doing so becomes a whole lot more effortless, assisting us to achieve our goals.

Excellent post, Mark, thanks for the insights, some real pearls in there. I think that the self-belief is the one that counts the most once we get on that path we just have to keep following it to the end, which will just take us to another new beginning.
I like the idea of writing our thoughts and info tib bits in a journal some of the best ideas are lost to the fog some times.
Thanks Alex! There's something about doing it deliberately rather than 'thinking' I do it which I find helpful.

Well delivered wisdoms. Thanks.
May I add someone said life is a one-way street of accumulation, modification, and continuation from inception to eternity as well as a changing, adjusting dynamic process of constant struggle to cope with reality, certainty, and uncertainty of daily living.
Much appreciated for sharing...

Wow Chin that is great, thank you.
That's a really full statement and requires careful unpacking to 'get it' all.
