How to Predict Your Future With 95% Accuracy

This is not a "Mystic Mark" post prediction, rather I'm highlighting what can often be our truth but the good news it can always be changed.

Did you know that you can predict your future with 95% accuracy just by looking at your past?

You might be resisting this idea right now but stay with me for a bit longer...

It's all about repetition and patterns.

It's an approach used more widely than you may have even realized.

Take job interviews for instance: Prospective employers examine your past few year's achievements. This tells them what they can expect from you in the future.

Insurance companiesalso use this to determine your premiums. They look at your past claim's recordand based on that, they predict whether you are likely to claim again inthe future.

Is it very fair?

Maybe not, because they don't factor in that you can change beforehand. You have to prove it so that they next time they consider your past, it's different from before.

The point is you can change it, whether it's your career achievements, insurance history or any aspect of your life.

A Tony Robbins quote is "The past does not equal the future." but it often does, for lot of people.

Think about it, how different is your life today from five years ago?

Of course for some of you, your life may be radically different since you arrived at WA. That means you found your way to tapping into that other 5% and turned things around for yourself.

Exactly my point...

I've always thought the Tony Robbins quote would be improved if it was, "The past DOES NOT HAVE TO equal the future."

And that's because that is the truth as I understand it. Often I have repeated my past so that it has become my future.

But the moment I 'wake up' I can change what I'm doing right now and that equals a different future.

No matter what you did yesterday, last week, last month or last year, you can change your future by having a vision of what you want to achieve and being determined enough to change things and not give up until you get there!

So this time next year will you be looking back over the year and celebrating that you took control and changed your future or will you be disappointed that nothing changed?

It's all up to you. We all have everything we need right here at Wealthy Affiliate to change our futures.

This is a fabulous post. Thanks Mark. Since I joined WA late last year, I’ve often wondered, what I will be looking back on 12 months from now? I’m confident I’ll be happy with changes I’ve made and how far I have progressed.
Thanks for your post.

Thanks Mia! It's always a great feeling when we know we have grown and have achieved something that was not easy. I am sure there will be lots of celebrations when that day comes and you do look back Mia. :) ~Mark

Oh so true! A fantastic post. Our past does govern our future, but only if we sit back and allow it to. Thank you for the reminder!
Mike.

Thanks Michael! Here's to a very bright and positive future. ~Mark

I really enjoy having people here at Wealthy Affiliate who drop pesrls of wisdom and enlighten my day. Thank you Mark. A new month to go forward and work towards success.

Thanks Tania! Building our fantastic futures right now. :) ~Mark

You are right, Mark. I am amazed when people remain living in patterns they know are destructive, but they continue anyway. Of course, we can also form good habits and live in ways that are productive and bring success.

Thanks for your perspective.

Thank you Joe! It's not always easy to change bit it is possible when we're ready to give up fighting for our limitations. ~Mark

Exactly. I have certainly changed my mindset over recent years. I constantly battle with those long-term beliefs from the past, that can be difficult to overcome. But at least it's possible to do so, once we acknowledge that we are the ones in control of our own destiny.

Too right Natalie... it's something we just have to keep working on. We always have choices we can make but often we resist what comes with the choice. ~Mark

Encouraging post.

Rick

Thank you Rick!

People can have an awfully hard time breaking patterns, largely due to fear. We like what we already know, so even if we are not satisfied with the results we are getting, we often keep repeating the same actions simply because it's what we know.

If we are going to grow and improve, we have to be willing to change, but it seems that the average person is quite resistant to that idea.

Spot on Craig. The habit is easier and more comfortable than the change even though what we are doing is not in our best interests. I guess there has to be some significant leverage present before we make that move and even then like you say, most resist. ~Mark

Hey Mark,
It’s true that your past can impact your future for better or worse, but it really depends on the individuals experienceses and mental growth that they have developed from the past. Failure can be one the best learning tools as long as you don’t become a quitter!
Blessings,
Marcus

Thanks Marcus! Totally agree. Learn from the failure steps along the way and you'll achieve your goals. ~Mark

Who and what you are represents who and what you have been and will make who and what you will be.

Perfectly said Chin! You have a way with words. ~Mark

Mark,
Welcome.

Yes, Mark, PM is private message. Good morning! My location is 8:07 am; how is yours?

Cheers,

Chin

You can't keep doing the same thing every day and expect different results. In order for your life to change, you must change your actions and your thinking, so your life will change.

Albert Einstein

Too right Loes, thanks for that, love the quotation. As is often said, doing the same thing and expecting different results is insane. ~Mark
