Diary of a Super Wealthy Affiliate in Training - Week 1

I've decided create a weekly report back as a blog post where I can share my thoughts, report on the week past and share my learning with others.

Welcome to Week 1!

Has it been a successful week? Yes it has!

Lot's of excitement and energy around being selected as a Super Affiliate in training this week!!!

Many people accepted and it's great to be part of a bigger group of people committed to changing their lives for the better.

It was great to bask in the energy of excitement and appreciation but now the hard work really begins.

Since I had already started a new site for Kyle's mentoring program and stared to re-work my way though Bootcamp, I had a bit of a head start with completing the required tasks.

The only one that needed my attention was creating two keyword rich posts which is now done.

I was reminded how fortunate we are to have two excellent tools to assist us with content creation:

and...

They really do make creating content much easier and I'm very grateful to have them to use.

There were a couple of areas I wanted to iron out this week for the job ahead.

How many referrals would I need per day, say over 300 days at a 12% conversion rate to make the 300 premium referrals required to qualify for Las Vegas?

As I understand it I'd need about 2520 total referrals over this time period to make the above work.

Reality check!!! Okay, sounds like a scarily huge number. Broken down, it becomes 8.4 referrals per day as an average.

Of course that still sounds like a lot but it's better to know what's required so I can work towards making it happen. I can do this!!

How am I going to schedule my time around everything else in my life so I can keep the commitment ?

I work part time for 4 hrs every afternoon as a one on one performance coach for a global cruise company.

For my own business and WA I am committing to 5 hours per day, week days and 6 hours on a Saturday which gives me a total of 31 hours per week.

This schedule will push me, even make me feel uncomfortable, but considering that when I was in the corporate world working full time, I worked many more hours per week so I believe this is realistic and do-able.

Of course when I can do more and have to do more.... I will!

All my time is scheduled in my Gmail calendar in hourly segments which is how I always work - 50 mins on and 10 mins, rest. This has worked for me for years so no reason to change now.

I am also aware that I am no use to myself or anybody else if I wear myself out so I have also incorporated down time for rest and relaxation into my weekly schedule. Lastly I will make sure I get sufficient sleep, eat well and exercise daily.

Okay... moving on.. I am and yes I can!!

What are you going to commit to this week?

Whether you're part of one of the mentoring groups or not, here's wishing you a fantastic new week ahead.

Wow Mark! You are beyond impressive. Amazing amazing blog! I loved the schedule you have always worked on.

And the idea of resting between is so healthy. I have yet to conquer that..lol

I know you are already successful just by the way you are preparing for it.. not only have you manifested it.. it will just overflow...

And breaking down the number per day of referrals gives us a very specific way of looking at mastering this process.

Thank you, great job! I cannot wait to hear more about your process of success.

Thanks Ariel!

Your feedback means heaps Madame Ambassador (well earned too!) :)

Yes I do have to force those rest breaks otherwise I just never stop. :)

The great thing about running our own businesses is we can decide exactly how to do things that are best for us. I love that freedom of choice.

And its complete sense of accountability. Good luck Mark!

Hey Mark,

Great post. I'm in the Super Affiliates Course aswell. I had an old domain I'm using, and decided to start from scratch as there wasn't much content on it. I've done the Privacy Policy, About Me Page & Wealthy Affiliate Review, and completed Phase 1 of the Bootcamp. Can't wait to get Kyle's message ready for Week 2's homework.

Here's to your success :)
Steven

Congrats to you too Steve. You're on to it my friend. Wishing you all success ahead too. ~Mark

Hi Mark,

The decision to win is the beginning. A well thought out, step by step plan including all essential components is the route to the finish line, i.e. goal(s). Revise as needed.

I will compose my plan of essential elements in a daily schedule.

Thank you, not only for your plan but also, it helped me understand its value for victory.

Expect the best to achieve the best,
Lovetta**

I love that line of yours Lovetta - "Expect the best to achieve the best" That is so true! I'm pleased the post helped you too. ~Mark

Hey Mark... I really enjoyed reading this. I'm in the Super Wealthy Affiliate training as well and I'm working on my old site for the training. Yikes... I can't believe how mechanical my writing is in my old posts.

I'm supercharged...

What am I going to commit this week? I'm going for 8 hours a day.... focusing on new content per the tasks. My writing is more natural and feels good, once I clued in the 'conversational' writing...

I see you're doing very well and staying committed. Whether we are in the Super Wealthy Affiliate training or not... as long as we stick with our goals we can all be successful.

Thanks very much for sharing!

Monica

Thank you Monica!

I was reading some of my earlier posts on an old site this week and thought exactly the same thing.

It just goes to show that our learning and progress really is a process.

No matter how perfect we think something is now, we are sure to feel differently about it down the line.

Your comment was lovely and conversational Monica so I am sure those posts will be just as engaging!

I think your schedule is very well thought out and logical and in part you answered my question. I was wondering where to flutter to as im nearly done with phase 1 barring one more step , just the 2 other key word rich contents.
these pertain to affiliate partnerships and how to go about it?
Im asking actually as a doubt not a rhetoric question :)

Thank you Shweta! My understanding is that the two posts just have to each focus on a selling keyword that aligns with the direction you have chosen for your site. So yes, choosing keywords related to affiliate marketing would work. ~Mark

Good Job Mark!

Doing a similar schedule I believe, although I could learn from the 10 minutes breaks you are doing. I guess I am very good at planning big blocks of 2-3 hours and some of the time will be breaks. Perhaps your way is better.

Anyway, also having a steady progress. Just wondering if 8 registrations is too much. But maybe the 12% is wrong ;) let's hope so at least.

Steven

Thanks Steven!

Like you I can easily get so involved that I can work for 2-3 hours without stopping but my productivity definitely slows over such long periods.

I find that I am more productive if I set a timer and take the 10 min breaks.

I guess the best way is try it and see if it works for you.

The 12% is the number Kyle gives as an average but I am hoping it's wrong too. :)

If not we will have to find the way. It must be possible as others are doing it.

Awesome Mark! Great going with your schedule... I do something similar... basically the pomodoro technique, if you've heard of it. Sometimes I have found it hard to get started, but now I find that as long as I commit to a very small amount of time; I can then get into it and keep going. :)

I do the same but never knew it had a name.. pomodoro sauce... quick to boil and slow to simmer :)

Thanks Natalie! Yes I know the pomodoro technique well. That's how I started and then I worked my way up to the longer stretch. I think you've just go to do what works for you. ~Mark

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post because I needed a little bit of motivation from someone else. I have been stressed out looking for a job since I got laid off. I know it should be giving me more time to work on my website but in reality, looking for a job feels like a full time job. I need to just bite the bullet and be working online while working to find my job that pays.

That's it Heather!! You can do it all and have it all too. :)

I agree though.... looking for job does take a heap of time. Hope you find one soon.

~Mark

I also am in the Super Affiliate program. I'm in a bit of a different situation, I work 40 hrs. per week plus commute time. I still want to work on this as much as I can without wearing myself out. I like your post. Its nice to see how others are doing.

Thank you Daniel!

I am sure that many of us have differing amounts of time available but it's still possible to be successful regardless. You just need to make your time work for you.

Congrats on being in the program and wishing you all the best on the journey ahead.

~Mark

Thanks for posting week one report Mark. I am definitely interested in hearing about you and everyone else's progress.
I like your gmail calendar schedule idea and I'm going to steal it ;)

Like you I need to get in exercise also and try to sleep properly but I am currently in one of my "not sleeping well" stages so I hope that passes soon.

It will be lots of hard steady work but I'm sure you are up to it!

Thanks for the report and look forward to next week.

Thank you Craig!

I hope the gmail calendar works for you too. It's simple but effective.

Nothing worse than those 'not sleeping well" stages. Certainly hope that passes soon.

Appreciate your support and feedback.

~Mark
