Create a book of magic in which you write words, quotations, reflections, dialogues, everything that passes through your mind. Ideas came any time, not just when you are sitting in front of youromputer. Play with word assonance ex. Affiliation/integration , and so on, play with opposites in/out. Writing happens first in your mind....

You're right.. thanks.

Hi Mark,
Since your website is relatively new, I would forget about promoting anything. I know that seems counter intuitive to what we are trying to accomplish here but it's not. Since you are probably not going to get that much traffic in the beginning anyway, you really don't have to worry about loss of sales.

But what this does is show Google that you are serious about becoming an authority in your niche. You have a Tips and Tricks section of your website. You should really play that up. As a tech geek myself, I don't think you could ever stop coming up with things to write about with this section. This is where I would concentrate my efforts in the beginning.

Then, after you start gaining traction with readers and the search engines, you can start to incorporate more of your monetization strategies.

Speed of PC goes hand-in-hand with security (malware, spyware, etc) that opens up a whole avenue for you to write about. Tips, tricks, latest buzz about security, etc.

Also, take advantage of video tutorials. That lends really, really well to your niche. And you don't necessarily have to produce all of them yourself. CNET has plenty that you can use that they have made available on YouTube. But also consider producing your own as well.

Best Regards,
Jim

Hello Jim,
Your reply actually changed my way of thinking a bit. But I think you're right. Maybe I should be focussing more on getting an audience and creating quality content before I'm even fit to promote a product on my website. Makes sense, really.

Also, I've been told before that either creating or using a video on my website lends really well to my niche, so either creating or using video tutorials might be a very good idea indeed. Thank you! You helped me to slow down a bit. Taking one step after another, instead of trying to make a jump i'll never be able to make.

- Mark

Hi mark,
One suggestion I would give goes the same with Daniel. Try doing a personal video of you maybe comparing two items and why you suggest the one over the other. It would be good if you had the specific item you are promoting as well, then your audience could connect with you more on the item and your opinion.
Hope this helps.
Donna

Hi Donna. Thanks for your reply. And that might indeed be a good idea. Making or using a video on my website might be a good idea to gain trust and confidence. And it'll also be easier to explain some tips and tricks. Thanks.

Hi Mark - using the Alphabet Soup method I typed in "make my pc" - these are just some ideas you could use to write content for people, that is relative to your site (I believe):

make my pc boot faster
make my pc better for gaming
make my pc cooler
make my pc download faster
make my pc desktop look like a mac
make my pc energy efficient
make my pc error free
make my pc faster
make my pc faster for gaming
make my pc go faster
make my pc headphones louder
make my pc into a wifi hotspot
make my pc kid safe
make my pc more secure
make my pc quieter
make my pc run faster
make my pc startup faster
make my pc use less power
make my pc virus free

You also recommend 3 products for the PC - how about doing actual reviews of these? Or reviews of software or hardware which does similar things - what are the pros/cons of one vs another, what would you score them etc?

If you use the free keyword tool here, or Jaaxy, type in a key word, and look down the screen at all of the other suggestions they come up with. See something you like, clikc on the Dig button and drill into that.

I hope that gives you a little boost.

All the best, Mark

Thanks a bunch Mark! That's quite a helpful method of finding stuff to write about. And doing reviews of products might indeed be a good idea as well!
Thanks again!

I've been writing for many years and I have these moments, so don't fret. It's going to happen.

I looked your site over. Looks pretty darned good to me :) The writing that you have on it now is awesome. I've written this whole thing before I visited it and can see that your writing draws me in, you are demonstrating and showing things, which is excellent!

There are a number of ways to drum up ideas for things to write about. You've just not had the experience yet.

One thing that will probably help you is that when you write, don't try to sell the item. Show the item to your audience. It is particularly helpful if you have experience with the product or service you are promoting. As an affiliate, your job is to showcase it. The owner or company does the selling (usually.)

There is a vast storehouse of ideas just waiting for you in the way of describing PC problems and how these are handled. Show your audience how some things can be fixed, and then show them a product that will do the same job easier and quicker. Again, do you have a product you are going to promote? You can describe your experiences with the product and you have a review.

What I normally do is have a review to a product containing its affiliate link. I have a number of other posts talking about different aspects of the product or about things related to it and then internally link it to the review. I interlink my pages as much as possible, but all roads lead to that review.

This way, you have flow, a funnel, and not every post or page on your site includes an affiliate link.

You can study other products or services that are not as good as the one you have, describe your findings and then show the "better" product for a comparative review.

I hope I was able to help or encourage you at least some. Keep at it...

Daniel

Thank you, Daniel. I appreciate your reply, very helpful!

And to answer your question: Well, I've been using AVG Anti-Virus for quite some time, however I didn't really do much with it to be honest.

But good to know I'm not the only one with this problem either.
Thanks again!

- Mark

Hi,

I think this is a big puzzle for many people myself inclusive. I really do not have much knowledge about the subject of your website. But I sometimes use the W and H to try and build up some ideas. That is: Try to form questions around: What, Who, Where, Why, When , Which, How etc Then try to answer them. That could be a framework for building some content.

That might be worth a shot.
Well, I've got some knowledge of my subject, since I can't afford a decent PC to run games etc. so I'm always trying to speed it up a bit, and trying to make those games run anyways. But that's all really.
This feeling of no-inspiration just makes me wonder if I've chosen the right niche. However I don't want to give up or anything.

Hey Mark,
You stated that you are having difficulty coming up with ideas to write about but think about the following comment you made "I've got some knowledge of my subject, since I can't afford a decent PC to run games, etc..."

This could be a whole niche in and of itself. You can show how you were able to get some games that did not work (because of not having a decent PC) with step-by-step instructions on how to do so or even a video. You could also teach people how to overclock (geek term) or how to tweak the monitor to get the most out of the graphics card, etc.

Best Regards,
Jim

That might not be a bad idea either, Jim. I might even be able to add some stuff about wether it be possible to add certain games on a lower-end pc or if it's just impossible to get the full experience of it. This opened up a new world for me, thanks!!

So, I've been at this for a while now, but I still haven't been able to find the right niche to start with. I've upgraded to premium today, but the very first lesson of course 2

What do you guys think of: ''How to Make My Laptop Run Faster?''.
I think it has some decent results when entering it on Jaaxy. And it's a subject I can work with, since I'm constantly helping others with this, and looking stuff up for my own pc as well.

Congrats- sounds like you found a great niche- good luck!

I know I will be visiting you when you are up and running; how's that for an endorsement!

Thanks a lot! Now lets get this thing up and running!

Hi Mark - congratulations on going premium. As Rick says just be careful that you don't go too broad.

Hi. Sounds like you have lots of knowledge on helping people improve, unlock, fix things; meaning, things technical. Have you looked into tips, tricks, how to type of niches? You don't want to go too broad but these are the things I look for. Show me simply how to do something that makes my cell phone and computer usage easier.

Hello. Well, yes. I've been helping a lot of people of with their computer's or cell phones in real life. If they've got any questions on what phone to buy or if they can't decide wich notebook they should get, they come to me. Not that I have that much knowledge on it, but I like it. So maybe a ''how to'' isn't that bad of an idea! Thanks very much for your response! It really helps!

Do some searches online and see what is out there. Lots of people aren't techies so don't know how. All the best.

If you haven't used your 30 free trial searches in Jaxxy, use them to figure out your niche. You put your keyword into the search bar and it will give you 20 other examples of more defined niche areas, tells you the keyword information you need to know, and will even search available domain names for you. Just visit www.jaxxy.com

Yes Jaaxy is indeed a very good keyword tool. I've been using that during and after the lesson in the first course. Thanks for you response!

Hi Mark,
To be honest with you there is no right or wrong niche. If you find a real niche market and advertise it well you should be able to be profit with it. Having said that, there are people who find a real tight niche market but do nothing with it and therefore make no money.

So what do you need to do to find a niche market you will successfully run. It starts with a list of things you like, you are good at doing and things you help others with.

From the list choose the thing you like most and find a niche market for that.

I have found quite a few tight niches SEo power over 95, see below

Under computer market
If you go that route there is (computer parts warehouse)

If you look you will find one. Alternatively you can follow the Affiliate Bootcamp and promote WA in your first website then later do a website with a niche of your choice.

People have given me positive feedback on my blog on finding niches. See if it helps you.

Hey Terenzia, thanks very much for your response and taking the time to help me out with this. I can certainly use some of your tips, an will check out your blog! :)

Whatever you pick, you are going to be stuck with it for a while. So, pick something you love doing. If you love it, your energy and heart will be in it and people will notice this. Whatever interest you and you love doing, there is a bunch of people out there who loves that too. Just focus on adding value to them.

Thanks for your response! I appreciate it! I hope I'm able to make a top 5 or something of all things I like or love to do. So I can put my heart and energy in!

I've been here for longer and only now found out what I love to talk about. It's a big decision so take your time and good luck!

Thank you! I will think about it, and won't rush things!

What do you love to talk about? What topic do you risk boring your friends and neighbors with because you just have so much to say? What kinds of things do you find yourself getting sidetracked with? There is an audience out there for anything. After just a couple of days with this, it is clear to me that your niche must reflect what you love. Good luck!

Thanks for your response! You've got me thinking about all things in life that interest me. I will definitely think about those things!
