Training Credits Explained

Last Update: January 29, 2017

I just answered a question regarding training credits so I thought I would share the explanation with everyone.

You can get paid for creating training here at Wealthy Affiliate. You need to be a premium member for three months before you are permitted to create training. Your training must be relevant to online marketing and of a high standard.

The Levels

When you create a new training it enters Level 1. It's only after it has progressed all the way through Level 1 and enters Level 2 that it can qualify for approval.

It takes time, engagement, likes, views and comments to get through each level.

The first level of training is worth 10 credits ($5). When your training clicks over into the 2nd level then your training credits for the first level can be approved.

Approval is done manually once or twice a month. You'll get an email when your training credits have been approved.

When your training goes all the way through the 2nd level and enters the 3rd level then you'll get an additional 20 credits ($10). It can take a long time to go through the 2nd level.

Each additional level takes longer to go through and is worth the previous level's credits plus 10 credits. So when your training goes through Level 3 and enters Level 4 then the additional credit earned is 30 credits ($15).

To cash out

You need to go to your Credit Dashboard and move the slider across to cash out. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/credits

Payments are made on the 1st of the month following cashing out. So if you have reached the threshold with credits approved and you move the slider across today you'll get a payment on the 1st day of next month.

So if you've been a premium member for over 3 months what are you waiting for? Share your knowledge now.

Hi Marion, quick question...

So you get paid for the training when it reaches the next level but I wonder, do you get paid one time for the training for each level?

So lets say I created training and it remained at level 2 for 5 months. Would my payment for this training be a one time payment of $5 or would it be $5 a month until it moved up to level 3?

Hope I was able to explain my question well.
Thanks for your help :) Always love your training

That would be nice, Amelita. But, no, it's a one-off reward for reaching each level.

Thanks for this training, Marion. So, now I know how many levels I have to go through when I create training and I know the payments for each level. What I don't know is what is required of me to get through each of those levels.

This is sort of like Google not letting us in on what their algorithms are! I would think that knowing what is specifically required would ensure that the training would be at the highest quality possible if we know what is required. I try to create the best training that I can and I don't assume that readers know about something if I didn't put the information in.

Anyway, just an opinion!

Thanks for this information though. Much appreciated.

It is one of those algorithm thingies, Verna. No one can give you the exact metrics involved. The more comments, likes, and time spent on the training the faster it goes through the levels.

That's what I understand. I haven't done too much training. For some reason, I don't seem to get many likes on training or blogs I write - maybe one day! LOL.

Thanks a lot, MarionBlack! You really did a great job here. One more thing that is not clear to me yet about the credits is that if I am able to create training for the community, what really makes me get the cash credits for training others? Is it when my training tutorial is read, commented on and liked by someone or, perhaps, is it that I won't earn even if my tutorial is read, commented and liked? This is where I am stuck about getting paid for being a trainer.

As I said above, "It takes time, engagement, likes, views and comments to get through each level."

Then it's entirely up to Kyle and Carson if the training is approved. And only K&C know the exact number of likes and comments that it needs to progress through the levels.

Every day there are new questions being asked. If you can answer some of those questions you've got the basis for creating a tutorial. A tutorial needs to be at least 4 pages of information and usually you'll need to include some screenshots.

Check out Loes's tutorials, she does them well https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/loes/training

Most of all, have fun.

Thank you Marion! YES! This is super exciting to know!!! I did write three in one week once I knew I had passed the three month mark. I only knew I had to wait because I tried creating previous to that and it wouldn't let me, hahaha.

Once I created my first, it hit level 2 within minutes. Of course I had no idea what that meant. Then people starting asking me all kind of questions, and I found myself making quick screenshots for them with red marks! All while I was writing training 2 and 3, lol. Of course by the 3rd, that one was requested, hahaha.

Thank you. Thank you for explaining in full detail. This is exactly what I wanted to know. HOW it all worked. :o)

Level 1 = 10 credits = $5
Level 2 = 20 credits = $10
Level 3 = 30 credits = $15
Level 4 = 40 credits = $20
Level 5 = 50 credits = $25
and so on

One thing I am unclear on:
Are the credits and payments cumulative?

In order words, if you get to Level 5, have you earned (5+10+15+20+25) = $75 and (10+20+30+40+50) = 150 credits

Or as Loes indicates from a different post, have you only earned -

$50 only for Level 5 AND 50 credits only for Level 5?
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
The payments are made on the first day of the month after they have been approved, provided the payment threshold has been met.

So if your training has reached Level 2 then you get paid $5 for Level 1. Then (eventually) when that training reaches Level 3 you get an additional $10 for Level 2. Making a total of $15 for that particular training.

Thanks for explaining how this works.

I use the trainings so often to additionally explain a procedure I am unclear about. Sometimes it is the slightest different angle that will shed the final light for me.

I do want to create a training at some point. Now I have a better idea of the pay structure.

Thanks,
Sami

Thank Marion, the system as you explain it is much clearer. And wish me luck - I've just started my first training.

One thing you can confirm to me: am I right in thinking you cannot use affiliate links in your WA training??

Thank you
Giulia

Definitely no affiliate links in training, posts or anywhere else at WA.
It's in the rules at #7
"No adding affiliate links to any blog, training, discussion or private message"

Your training is always of a high standard and for the most part in plain simple step's that we can all follow.....even if I have to replay some bits a few times and have my own site open on another tab....lol

Hi, great explanation. One of my trainings has well over 100 comments and I think 70 likes, yet is only about a quarter of the way through level 2. Is this normal? Does it usually take a lot more engagement than this to hit the next level?
Reply
MarionBlack Premium
It takes a long time to to through the 2nd level and subsequent levels take even longer.

Hi Marion, you did not say what exact conditions are for the training to get to next level. I have no idea how many likes the training must get to achieve next level. After asking Carson a few times, and getting his answers, I still could not understand what he was saying, so I just gave up.

Whats the process of getting to level 2? is it the number of trainings or engagement from the trainings?
