Today I will continue with the next stage of Maria's Madness, albeit my mental state is in a much better state today as the frenzied building and creation of 20 websites had consumed me for a couple of days there.

Again I would like to say, the steps I take can be followed rather you operate one website or many. It doesn't matter, so please do not feel as if you have to operate 20 websites for this to work!

Back in the day, google ranked websites well based more on "amount of content" and not much more. We could do all sorts of things to "trick" google, in order to get to the top of the search results. Usually by piggybacking off of websites that had tremendous domain authority (if you remember About.com then you know what I mean).

There were many websites that went kerplunk, kerplooey, goodbye (including About.com which was HUGE back in those days) when the Google Penguin update came out.

You see, many professed SEO experts, learned a VERY valuable lesson when that update came out.

A lesson I have long known because it is COMMON sense in my mind, yet many others were devastated.

The lesson is this: Google is a GIANT, a GREAT GIANT. Many who have relied on top search engine rankings solely on strategies that are designed to "trick" the search engines, are doomed to fail!

NO single individual can outsmart the team of programmers, mathematicians, developers, and strategists (AND MORE) that google has on hand.

Google has one rule, one rule only. And this rule, has been the same since the creation of google (yes I have been around since that time, and have seen a lot of things in the SEO world).

When someone abides by this one rule, they will ALWAYS have great success!

Now as you know, I have been keeping up with Parthas posts, while working on fixing some dormant websites, and preparing for a mass campaign geared towards me promoting the snot out of WA. This will NOT be a paid ads campaign, but instead will be an SM campaign (I LOVE SM Campaigns, they work better than paid in my honest opinion).

In his posts, he does mention "competition" a lot, as he should. We all should be aware of who our main competitors are, what they are doing, what we need to do to get ranked well etc.

Our first competitors are the large corporations (Amazon, eBay, companies in general etc.) One thing I know about these competitors is that the huge corporations follow that one rule strategically because they PAY experts to handle the grunt work of SEO for them.

I agree with Parth that there is NO WAY we can compete with mega-corporations, so do not even try!

The second main competitors are the ones who operate websites with a handful of employees, or who outsource tasks....in my mind, they are not competitors at all because they do not care much about the consumer. I am not talking about those who really make a high-quality blog (outsourcing is FINE) but I mean the blogs that are so overloaded with ads that visitors leave the moment they get there, the bounce rate is HORRID.

I see them a lot and cringe when I do. They have great rankings, and it's like they are "slapping" site visitors, telling them "go away, I got my pennies from your visit, now leave me alone, I have better things to do than to waste time with you"

And then we have the single individuals who are like me, the ones who do their best, follow that one rule, and who find great success with their one blog.

Anyone under that, is not really a competitor at all.

With all of that being covered, I want to explain what the ONE rule is that an individual should follow. The one rule that Google loves, adores, and will flourish great rankings on you if you adhere to this one rule!

The Rule Is: Provide ALOT of HIGH-QUALITY content that HELPS your site visitors

There is more to that rule than meets the eye, way more than I can explain in a single post. So for now, I am offering a strategy that I have used time and time again to gain great rankings.

The next step of my madness is to start a SM campaign that will be unlike anything anyone has ever imagined!

So those of you who are following me, the next step is going to be VERY hard to do, for some. Especially if you have a popular name.

You will need to come up with a brand name for yourself.

You should make it professional and use your own personal name. This is very important, because you will want site visitors to see you as a PERSON not a "techno_no_nothing_gadget_gal_or_guy".

We are not teenagers, so a cutesy name is not an option. If you want to choose a cutesy name, stick with the WA training here because what I am sharing will not work if your name is "Cutesy". Then you will lament "Why is this not working for me!!!" and blame me for your ultimate failure.

You are not going to brand a product or service, you are instead going to brand YOURSELF.

Create a gmail account using this brand name, and then create a fresh new social account using the same name on reddit, twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and a page on facebook.

Next, install the blog2social plugin

Add each of those accounts to the plugin, and then wait patiently. We will be using Canva later, but for now, this is as far as this step goes.

Be sure that your name matches on ALL accounts, and you should use your personal name! If it's taken, use a title of some sort before your name and ensure that the name is available exactly matched on ALL social platforms. This is important!

A title could be Ms, Mr, Mrs, Miss, Sir, The, Happy, Smiling

It does not matter what it is, just make sure the same name is available on all networks, and that it is professional.

Now that I have my 20 websites up and running, I am going to go do this myself on all 20 websites.

I will post more when I get done with that task....I hope some of you are staying with me, I said it was sheer madness lol. It's going to all make sense once the pieces are in place :)
