Google+ content removal

Dear all,

If you remember in the training phase 4, lesson 9, one of the tasks was to 'Share at least one training resource to Google +'

Well, I did so and I received an email from Google+ about content removal in which I'm informed that my content violated the content and conduct policy. As such, the content was blocked or removed.

I do not know if any you face this, but I just want to share it with you.

Best,

Maria

I just got an email from Google a few weeks ago saying my content was removed because they thought it was spam. I did not post anything Wealthy Affiliate that would make me a target. I just posted my own content which may or may not have had an affiliate link in there.

I don't even know which post it was because all they do is send a ridiculous post ID with a long set of letters and numbers in it that means nothing. How do I even go about contacting them to see what it was so I know not to repeat it?

Now I'm leery to even post on there! I only post one article at a time to the public and then share that same article to one of my communities and that is only once a week or so. That's it!

Anyone else deal with this and how did you resolve it?

Hi Heidi

Due to the huge number of shares WA is a "prohibited" domain at G+

You need to share your own WA-related review/post with your own domain URL in order to avoid these issues

And anyway ... G+ will be closed in 2019

How did you get G+ out of that? Nowhere did she mention it!

I'm afraid I'm lost ... G+ is in the title and is mentioned twice in the original post ... And she commented on THAT post ...

Actually I am talking about G+, just forgot to add the + when I typed it up.

That's what I mean. It had nothing to do with WA, which is generally the reason they remove them. Mine was about homeschooling.

Ooops my mistake.

OK but if you are using a link containing the WA root domain G+ will react

That's why I said that you should share a link pointing to your own domain

There are no articles I have posted pointing back to WA. All my own domain. That's why I don't understand why it was removed and called spam.

In this case I'm clueless ...

Have you posted in a G+ community? They can have particular rules regarding posting frequency, content etc

I have had quite a few of those emails from Google and quite frankly I ignore them and I'm still posting on Google and they are still accepted.

After the July/August Algorithm a lot of sites got hit hard but you persevere and you will recover.

I have. It's weird! I only post in those communities maybe once or twice a month. But like you said, they are gone in 2019 so I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much.

Thanks Robert! Good to know!

Best not to be intimidated by the almighty Google.

If you are really worried then contact Support and ask them what the numbers and symbols refer to and is it for a particular post.

With Google+, I got suspended but I appealed so quickly that they reactivated my account on the same day.

With Pinterest, It happened to me two months ago. I got suspended for 2 months because of what I have posted that they claimed to be spammy and I wasn't aware of anything I posted that I violated their policies. I appealed many times because they said they sent me a suspension noticed but I never saw it or maybe I deleted accidentally. So I appealed until this time. Fortunately, my account was reactivated only today! Yeah, just today. Here's the message I received from Pinterest;

"Sorry that your account was deactivated! Occasionally good accounts get caught in the mix when we're looking for spammy accounts, and we truly appreciate your help in keeping Pinterest content high-quality."

I hope you can make an appeal as soon as you can.

All the best

Bien

Thanks for sharing your experience.
It's frustrating, I know.

Have you promoted any affiliate before account suspension?

Yes, And I know it was one of the links or photos I posted.

OMG. My bad. I got confused. My first comment was about my suspension with Pinterest. Lol. And yeah it happened to me. With Google+, I also got suspended but I appealed so quickly that they reactivated my account on the same day.

Same here. I promote WA link and couple of hours I receive the email. In my case, only the content was removed

No worries :)

No fair! they should at least explain. I wish I could help. Maybe you contact Carson

Thanks, Sandy. I sent an email to Kyle.
It seems that the reason for removal is 'spam'.

Let me know how it turns out

I just got the answer from Kyle and his advice is to sent only blog posts and do not promote affiliates.

Thank You for this information.

You're welcome :)

Thank you for sharing that. I would never have imagined. Do you know what was violated? Would you mind sharing a link of the post you shared on Google + here?

You're welcome.
No, I do not know what was violated. The reason for removal is spam.
I do not mind, but I cannot see the post myself.

Okay no worries. I would really have wanted to take a look and see an example of what they would not allow on there. It's the first time I'm learning about this happening.

It's hard when they don't give a detailed reason because you don't know what they considered to be spam and how to avoid in the future.. :(

Yes, me too.

I just checked their content and conduct policy and at point 7 Spam it's mentioned: Spam

'Do not spam, including by sending unwanted promotional or commercial content, or unwanted or mass solicitation.

Do not aggressively send invitations, add people to your circles, or message people that you do not know.'

Thanks for sharing that too. It would have been very effective if they had just pointed out what was "spam" in your content though... it's still a little vague. Is it possible that this is a one off thing, I'm thinking? Maybe if you write it differently then Google will accept it?

You're welcome. Maybe I'll drop a line to Kyle and ask for a bit of advice.

That's a good idea.. :) please let us all know what he says.

Sure. As soon as I get an answer, I'll share it :)
