Goal Update January 2019

Hello everyone thanks for taking time to read this !

Thanks to those who followed me recently, some I think due to the fact I 'cracked' the 200 rank barrier. I don't expect to stay below 200, because it's not a priority, even though it is a goal to maintain this level of 100-200 by the end of June. This will be explained later.

Top 5, Top 10

New folks who may read this, be aware that my evolved philosophy is to closely follow 5 people here at WA and consider them my mentors. There are another 5 I pay attention to closely because they may be in 'my' top 5 eventually and/or for other reasons. I'm always checking and skimming posts of my network, but everyone should realize that we all have a limited amount of time to do it all. If we spend too much time posting, reading and replying to blogs, we can't spend that time on our website(s) and brand(s) on the Internet!

Generally, the top 5 people are all a) successful at online marketing, making money, and demonstrate real results; b) have a no-nonsense, goal-driven attitude and c) have an ability to teach what they do and finally d) have an ability to motivate people that what they do is successful.

They have to be able to do all 4 of these to be on my list.

I suggest you look for some people that offer the same and listen to what they say, do what they say, take action on what they say.

You can PM me if you are interested in knowing more and developing a rapport with me. In such cases I'm especially happy to develop personal relationships with the right people who share my 'frequency' and 'philosophy' of success.

Here is what the top 10 need not be: a) super-friendly to everyone; b) teachers of stuff that is irrelevant to success in online marketing; c) moralizers/arbiters who tell WA members how to behave at WA, d) a participant in any particular religious denomination.

Here is what the top 10 will never be: a) complainers or whiners; b) perpetual negative personal history story tellers - we all have our tragedies; c) philosophers of irrelevancies; e) anti-commercial ranters f) anti-capitalistic ideologue. I have no idea what the latter two would even be doing on this site, to be honest.

Goal Status

  1. Finish Kyle's Step-By-Step Training - end of January. still on target, but I failed to complete one task per day due to a huge influx of work on the two teaching day jobs I'm involved in.
  2. Engage with Successful Online Entrepreneurs - end of January -- completed; ongoing
  3. Make $10,000 by the end of the year
  4. Publish 3 posts per week on my niche -- I found a decent paid theme to use, so I'm ready to fire this up, but no posts were made this last week
  5. Grow an email list in an exponential curve, target: 1000 readers by the end of the year
  6. Publish one video per month to You Tube starting in Feb.
  7. Decide when to pursue a secondary niche promoting WA. First evaluation at the end of the first quarter 2019.WA recognition
  8. Shoot for top 200 at WA in first half of 2019 and top 100 in second half. Secondary goal
  9. Track the webinars weekly by Jay and catch up with all of them within 6 months no progress
  10. Continue the Smartketeer training, one training per week. no progress until I step up the Kyle training
  11. Find a new spiritual teacher to work with in the next few months. This is personal but essential; I've been without one for some years, it's time to reestablish a connection here for guidance.

Hi Marc,

I just realized that I needed to take a moment to check out what you have been up to. I'm sorry that I missed this when you first posted it.

Your goals are very admirable.

I must admit, I have very little interest in rank. It can detract from a person's ability to successfully achieve their business goals. Yet rank can also serve as a speedometer to make that helps us know that we are taking time each day to do what we need to do. I use site content to write my posts, so I better be here at WA every day.

I do know that your rank will be improving dramatically because you seek to learn and be inspired. I admire that.

I do agree with the other criteria that you seek for people in your network. If you have not noticed, I have very little patience with unethical people that pretend to be something they are not.

At the same time, I have very little patience with people that engage in what I call pity parties or excessive drama. Complaining on and on for the sake of complaining. Some things you have to acknowledge. Then just move on.

If I can use my rank to gently "guide" people in a way that will help them accomplish their business goals - I will. I try to. Hopefully, I never come across as someone that is trying to enforce a certain set of values, aside from honesty, on every one. Even then people are inherently flawed. No one is perfect. I'm not remotely close.

Yet, if I don't try to guide people towards business success, then my being self centered and focusing only on my business is being self centered. That is not good for me.

--So, I am curious, did you accomplish your video goals? Unfortunately, I didn't. I did figure out my mental road block?

How about your other goals? It is March now....

Well, you have inspired me to get a bit more specific with my March goals.

Thank you!

ps. I seek out people for my network that can mentally challenge me to continually grow, focus on my goals and serve.

Best wishes in all that you do.

Hey Sondra, thanks for stopping by. In many ways you are one that I like to follow due to your attitudes about the things you have spoken of in your comment. Like you, I want to be challenged and if I can do that for you, too, then great.

I do owe an update on my efforts and I'm going to do it today, in fact. So much has happened in the evolution of my business plan that it seemed a bit fruitless to report progress until I had better stability and clarity of vision.

In fact in my next blog I will be challenging some assumptions I've made due to my own discoveries about the depth of WA as it is a training and hosting platform par excellence. Like you, I have little time for the 'pity party crew' that seems to think it is their job to lament their situation and create unnecessary emotional drama. Getting hung up on rank is a path that can lead to that sort of thinking.

Anyway, thanks for the 'poke' and yes, I did make my goal for the videos, albeit not exactly in the manner I had visualized initially. Now, I won't even publish a post without a video embedded that, if possible, I've produced on my own! More on this later.

I really appreciate you stopping by! Marc

Great! I was hoping that I had not let you down this week somehow.

I see you have a new post, so I'm off to check it out. Then I've got to focus on my website.

Hi, Marc!
I came to this blog because you mentioned it in a discussion with @FranCallado (or by mistake, anyway, I'm here)

Believe it or not, your clarity brought me peace of mind.

I'll have to take a closer look at your second mentor (the only reference I have from him is 'thou too Brutus' from my childhood)

I can see we have much more than cats in common...

BTW, top 100, piece of cake for someone like you. Aim higher ;-)

Thanks for sharing.
Have a great and productive week!

Richard

Hi Richard, thanks for stopping by.

I've just not set my affiliate rank at WA as a priority. I have no doubt I could make ambassador when I want to aim for it, and if it's relevant to my success. But I appreciate the push :)

As for Julius as a mentor, I learned the most about him from a brilliant woman historical fiction author, actually! It was after reading this I came to admire the man a lot.

You may be interest in her series on The Masters of Rome. Her name is Colleen McCullough and she is absolutely brilliant in her portrayal of the end of the Roman Republic transitioning to the Roman Empire.

I know that ranking is not a priority for you, but if their formula works the way I suspect, you'll be there without any effort ;-)

I've been googling for The Master of Rome downloadable pdf to buy (I don't have a kindle yet) but it will have to wait.

Your priority 3 looks interesting. I'm willing to invest 200 hours of work to learn how to make it possible for my future referrals.

See? Ranking today 197 without lifting a finger (or did you cast a magic spell? LOL)
Have a great day

Complain to management ;)

It's so good to have a laugh every now and then ;-)

You have a most impressive agenda...I wish you luck in reaching it.

I, too, found top people I could follow for the first few months after starting. One wonderful woman whom I call my "Mama Cat" took me under her paw and taught me a great deal. Perhaps it is a natural thing for us to do.

Then when we learn enough, we can pass it on to those who follow.

Well Fran, if I were to rely only on luck I probably won't reach these goals! I've tried that, it hasn't been working much heh :)

Yes, it's a natural flow to have a mentor and likewise mentor others.

Hi Marc
Very wise words - I like how you have defined your Top 5 people! Well done! I'm looking forward to see who they are! ;-)
Awesome goals as well - wishing you all of the very best, Marc!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

hiya Sharlee, thank you but you have been my inspiration to find the right matches and learn from them.

I'll get back in touch soon with my perspectives in the top 5 as they stand at the moment :)

Enjoy your weekend -- Marc

Hi Marc
[blushing] Awww, Thank You Marc!
Looking forward to that!
Wishing you an awesome and productive week!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Well-deserved! You helped move me in the right direction, that I am seeing things the 'right way' so to speak. cheerio! Have a great week! I'll get something to you asap.

Hi Marc
[blush] You are too kind to me! ;-)
No worries - whenever you've got time, is perfect.
Have an awesome week, Marc!
Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Great Goals!

Thank you for sharing !

These are some great goals and wise to follow some successful people in WA
Have a great day
Tommy

Hey Marc
You certainly know what you want to do - wishing you everything of the best with achieving all your goals! Life has gotten in the way with a couple of them so far, that happens to each of us, it's great to have everything written down and measured though, that way you can do the things that are important as soon as the time becomes available. Keep the focus in other words.
Blessings to you
Louise

Hi Louise, you prompted me to remember that it is not only important to indicate 'what' but also 'why' or the 'what' will fall away.

It's more my 'real jobs' (for lack of a better way to describe them) that have gotten in the way. Business is booming for online instruction and one of my clients has requested we create our own classes, which was a bit unexpected and is going to suck up some time!

all the best as ever! Marc

Hi Marc
Congrats on that new piece of business, how amazing that you get to do something that is in such high demand - as seen in some of Smartketeers research. Very cool!
Enjoy the journey.
Blessings
Louise
